The food was better than average with a good selection of sushi and traditional Japanese dishes. The miso soup is also well made, though a bit more salty than I would like. Our servers did a good job of serving and removing dishes as we ate.

The atmosphere is only earning an average score because the restaurant is very dark. The lighting is poor and I believe that is by design. We had a business lunch here and I had to turn on the flashlight function on my phone in order to read paper documents. The men’s restroom was adequately clean, but the urinal was marked with a sign that said out of order. I wonder how long the urinal has been out of order? I believe the cleanliness and operational functions of a public restroom give a hint as to the cleanliness and sanitation care of the food preparation. Overall, the bathroom was better than many I have seen, but there is room for improvement.

The prices are in line with most Japanese restaurants, but bear in mind that Japanese fare is more expensive than most American dishes. Would I come here again? Yes, I would as the food tasted good and fresh and the service was excellent, but I did not like the low lighting and the bathroom urinal should be a priority to get fixed, in my opinion.

Used to love this place… so much so that today we drove here from our new house in Fort Wayne. Extremely disappointed. It gets worse and worse every-time we’ve come. All item menu prices are $3 higher (EACH!) than before (we last came in Sept) and the portions are about half the size as before as well. Our vegetables were not cooked all the way, the zucchini was still very hard. The steak was not a very good cut of meat as I had a few pieces that were all fat/ muscle. The shrimp was overcooked and like rubber. Definitely not worth $90 for just two people. The salad and soup sides were good but definitely a waste of time coming here and we won’t be back. Which is sad as we used to come quite often.

Our chef was awesome! There is just something about hibachi fried rice, and this place did not disappoint. I got the chicken and scallops, and my husband got the filet mignon and shrimp. All of it was delicious. The mushroom soup was so good that I could have eaten multiple bowls of it. The salad was good as well. We didn’t care for the calamari at all. I ordered the Mob Lobster roll, and I wasn’t a fan. My husband ordered the Dynamite roll he loved it. My sister and her husband ordered the sushi cake, I didn’t try it, but they said it was delicious.
The chef asked if we wanted the egg sauce, and we all said yes. I wouldn’t get it again. It wasn’t bad, but I just wouldn’t get it again. My husband and brother in law loved it. They also ordered the spring rolls, and I had 6 it was so good.

My partner and I have been coming here for years for our anniversaries and birthdays. The food is always delicious. I’d recommend the sushi plates, and the salmon 🙂 the hibachi chefs always put on a good show, even if the audience sucks :/ service is quick, and the servers are super friendly. I always recommend this place as much as I can. Can’t believe I haven’t made a review until now ‍♀️

crazy rude owners, they don’t even act like human beings. they seem so dull and unresponsive. i’ve had rude waitresses more than once too who never seem to come back to refill waters. they’re also sort of expressionless and perfunctory. we tried to wave them down and they still ignored us lol. considering the cost, the food left little to be desired as well. i feel cruel to admit it but i’m kind of shocked this place is still in business

We had a group of 10 for my dad’s birthday. And I have a few things to say about this place

For starters, the soup? is just chicken broth with thin slices of grilled chicken floating on top of it. The broth didn’t even taste that good and I could only take a few bites before handing it over to my dad. The salad just, tasted like a salad, but the dressing was very good.

Second thing, I might be reaching for this point but they don’t check IDs at all to make sure you’re of age for certain things. The cook was spraying a liquid in people’s mouths and I wanted to join in on the fun so I opened my mouth, to which he sprayed the EXTREMELY BITTER liquid in my mouth, after he got done he started cooking, to which my dad leaned over to me and confirmed that it was in fact, “extremely watered down alcohol” (Which was Sake, which, in hibachi grills, is only SLIGHTLY watered down.). I was mortified, especially since, for being extremely watered down it was extremely bitter and looking back at it now I should have known it was the taste of alcohol. If a younger child got ahold of that without the parents realizing, that could end up HORRIBLY. They usually switch the bottles when it comes to children, but I didn’t see any other bottle with the same nozzle as the sake, so that could be extremely dangerous!!

Although our chef was very interactive and nice, and our waitress was very sweet, our chef didn’t do any interesting tricks or fun things, At once I thought he was going to do the flaming onion volcano where the fire shoots up from the top of the pyramid they make, but he just stacked them up and pushed them aside, which threw me off a lot. The only reason why the service is 3 stars is because of our waitress.

The food was .. decent?, and our chef was very interactive with us, but some of it just didn’t taste the best, and made me reminisce about a different hibachi grill that we had where the food actually tasted as if it was made with love of the craft. The only good thing in the place was a cheesecake I got from a pre-made set of desserts. I wanted Mochi but I am very glad I got what I did, but it’s interesting that the only thing I got that was phenomenal was something that wasn’t made by the cook we had.

a day after the event, I had HORRIBLE diarrhea and now, on Saturday, my stomach is gurgling and I keep going in and out of the bathroom. I can’t eat anything besides crackers and tuna or toast without my stomach not agreeing and me having to sit in the bathroom for what feels like 30 minutes at a time.

I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, This gave me and another one of our party food poisoning and I’d never wish this upon anyone.

I had an amazing experience at this soho Japanese bistro! The service was outstanding—our server, Ling, was absolutely fantastic. She gave excellent recommendations, made sure we were comfortable, and truly went above and beyond to make our visit special. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. This is definitely a place I’ll be returning to. Highly recommend!

Went here for lunch and had a great experience. We did the hibachi option and had some sushi as appetizers. The service was good and the chef was good. This place also has the egg yolk sauce Wich is my favorite. The options are great if you’re a vegetarians or meat eater. Good time for the family as well. They have a small koi “pond”. The salad was very tasty as well as the broth soup.

Man this place was awesome! I love the Udon soup, it was a huge serving and tasted wonderful, especially on a cold 15 degree day in winter! My husband had chicken teppanyaki with fried rice. He said it was moist and grilled perfectly.
