Great Detroit-style takeout pizzeria. I tried several of their pies and enjoyed all of them. The pizza was outstanding when fresh and remained surprisingly good even after some time, which is rare since most pizza only shines right out of the oven. Service was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, the space inside is very small, with limited room to eat in, so it’s best suited for takeout.

The pizzas are quite unique. Square, thick, and cooked in iron skillets which enhances the taste and texture of the crust and the whole dish. The service is fast, friendly, and reliable. Definitely one of our favorite pizza places!

I usually don’t even like deep dish, but sometimes I want it—and this was hands down the best I’ve had. The crust was super crunchy on the bottom and edges, with that perfect cheese caramelization that takes it to another level. The dough had a really nice light, airy texture that kept it from feeling too heavy. I also love that they offer unique topping combos you don’t see at your average pizza shop. If you’re looking for something different and seriously good, Iron Born is it.

Ohhh. This is the best pizza!! We have been here numerous times and the flavor and taste never fall off !! The different pizzas offered are wildly delicious. The garlic pull apart bread is so amazing. The staff is wonderful. It’s the perfect place to stop and eat while walking thru the Strip District.

One of my favorite pizzas in Pittsburgh I’m a classic New York style pizza guy, but the Detroit style they serve up here is incredible. Don’t pass up on the Caesar salad and make sure you check out the Nashville hot. Absolutely delicious

The spicy pie was fantastic. A delicious blend of flavors and textures. Dough was light and fluffy with a crispy crunch on the outer edges. Not as heavy/dense as some other Detroit style pizzas I have tried. We will definitely be back!

Food is always delicious. Employees are short staffed and overwhelmed. Over heard the employees talking and it sounds like the boss won’t hire anyone else. This is the only reason I’m not giving iron born a 5 star. I hope the owner can see this and reply to me that he hired someone. If you do, I will remove the two star review. You’ll make more money in both short term and long term so I hope you get your business situated as your employees deserve a little better

Run don’t walk to this special pizza place. The deep dish pies are delicious and can be made GF. As out of towners, we thought we could dine in, however this location is designed for pickup. No matter. The 3 delightful guys working the kitchen and counter encouraged us to eat in and even played our signature song on the radio as they served up our pizzas. It’s clear to me that part of what makes these pies taste so good is the employees wonderful spirit.
