I literally detoured to Port Angeles en route Vancouver as The Strait somehow landed on my To Try list.
This lively local spot serves up slices and pies to what seems a mostly-repeat clientele.
Good pizza; good people. Worth a visit if in the area
Great crust — like a pita and a tortilla had a baby. Crispy under, soft on top beneath the toppings. Loved it. Great haven from the street and the hard work of being on the road.
They let me keep my bike on the back patio and charge my phone.
Eat here.
We had a classic cheese pizza and cookie. Both items made hungry hearts happy. It’s located at the center of town which is nice. Kid and adult beverages (a few beers on tap I believe ) and of course whole pies to go.
Could anything make this place better? Certainly it has plenty of character! And it had a community feel it it as well. No one would complain about slightly bigger slices, that’s for sure. Would we drop by again if in town? Simply put, yes.
Hot Tip:
After enjoy some pizza (or take with) head to Ediz Hook to enjoy beautiful views. Better yet, go enjoy the sunset!
Staff were friendly, but the place seemed understaffed. The initial wait after ordering was 20-30 minutes, but waiting for the second pizza took another 20. Smaller slices seemed to be prioritized and served earlier.
Atmosphere is great! Strait Slice is a smaller joint, but has outdoor seating. The interior is decorated and well lit and has a friendly atmosphere.
Overall, decent pizza, fairly priced, and good ambiance, but poor service and long wait times.
It’s a thin style crust with rustic edges so it’s definitely close to my preferred style. I love the size of the slices (big!) and they offer coke in a bottle from Mexico. I wish they had a few more meat items as most of it is pork, pork, and pork. While not dissing pork, there are other great options out there, like hamburger, that could add a lot to the menu.
They do offer gluten free and vegan options.
They have a great little outdoor patio that is dog friendly, too.
Overall would go back if we were in the area.
I will definitely try another pizza joint next time we’re in town.
