Our “ladies lunch squad” dined at Buffalo State Pizza at 1815 Wyandotte St., in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
There are a number of adjectives to describe the atmosphere… warm, casual, rustic, eclectic. And the pizza is amazing!
The menu is extensive — with a large variety of pizzas to choose from (including build your own), plus salads, sandwiches, calzones, and a plethora of beverages! They also have “Summer Salt” ice cream and old-school pinball machines. Last but not least, the service is excellent!
I’m excited about dining there in the future.

We were in KC from out of town and wanted a good quality pizza and they totally delivered! The atmosphere was just what I was hoping for with a bit of an eclectic urban energy that hit this city girl right in the feels. Will be returning when in town again!

Wondering aimlessly around Crossroads while riding street car and stopped for a quick early lunch with the woman I’m related to by marriage. First time. Loved the vibe.

I had a slice and a beer, she had a chicken parm sandwich. Very reasonably priced and very good. Place was not very busy and didn’t take very long to get our food. We will be back.

Day 2 and this pizza still smack as hard as it did the night before! 100/100 recommend! Last night I demolished 3/4 of 14” I shared with my best friend! It’s the kind of pizza that you don’t want to share with anyone else but yourself! I have been thinking & talking about this place all day! One of, if not, the best pizza spot in KC! I would duel anyone over the last slice! Mouth filled with drooled waiting to enrich my body with its oooie gooieness!

We were very excited to finally try Buffalo State but sadly it did not hit like we expected.
Breadsticks were very good. Crust was thick and crunchy edges and well seasoned.
The Maverick pizza- toppings and sauce were good but the crust was very disappointing. Thin and crispy with little flavor.
Atmosphere was ok pretty retro with games and seating.
Great happy hour pints were $5 with wide variety of beers on taps.
As for service you order at the bar and pizza and drinks came quick.

Delicious pizza every time! The crust is perfectly baked, the sauce is flavorful, and the toppings are fresh and tasty. Orders are prepared quickly and served hot. The staff is welcoming and provides great service. A great place to enjoy high-quality pizza with family and friends.

Wow! I have been following this place on yelp for over a year and finally got here tonight. We were blown away by the food!
We got The Vinnie Italian sandwich, and it was unbelievably good! The bread was perfectly toasted, it was served warm and contained a very good amount of high-quality meat and the perfect amount of dressing and vegetables. This may be the best sandwich I’ve had in town.
Then we also shared a slice of The Stockyard pizza. Absolutely amazing! The sausage is perfectly flavored and the ground beef is not greasy and delicious. The pepperoni is cupping, but not crispy burnt which is how I like it.
We can’t wait to come back here and work our way through the menu Buffalo State Pizza is a gift to our community.

The pizza is amazing, light crunch on the crust, top notch toppings, real cheese… The Pesto dip with Chicken and Bacon blew my mind. This instantly became one of my favorite pizza places in Kansas City. Pinball and arcade machines but you won’t have time to play as you devour amazing pizza. Huge beer selection available.
