I really wanted to like G.O.A.T. Room, but unfortunately, the food was a big disappointment.

We started with the chilli chicken, and it was probably the most underwhelming dish of the night. The sauce was thick, jelly-like, and overly sticky, with almost no real flavor. It lacked the bold, spicy, tangy kick you’d expect from a good chilli chicken.

The seekh kebab was extremely dry and didn’t taste fresh. It lacked seasoning and depth, and the texture made it difficult to enjoy. It honestly felt like it had been sitting out for a while.

The goat curry was better compared to the other dishes, but still fell short. While the meat was decent, the gravy lacked richness, spice balance, and that slow-cooked depth of flavor you expect from a proper goat curry.

The biggest surprise was the dal tadka — a dish that’s usually hard to mess up. Unfortunately, it was bland and uninspiring, missing the smoky tempering and comforting flavor that makes dal tadka such a staple.

On the positive side, the service was good — staff were attentive and polite — and the ambience was pleasant and comfortable. However, good service and decor can’t make up for food that lacks flavor.

Overall, very disappointing experience. I won’t be returning or recommending this place

10/10 all day long, I’ve been eating Indian food since I was a small child and I can tell you this is some of the best I’ve ever had. Their presentation is stunning the quality of the day is amazing!

The staff was super attentive without being overbearing. This is going to be added to my go to every time I go to DC!

We recently dined at G.O.A.T. Room in DC and overall had a pretty good experience. The service was attentive and friendly, and the staff checked in often without being overwhelming. The food itself was tasty, especially the Gol Gappe, which were fresh, flavorful, and definitely a highlight of the night. The entrees were solid as well, with good portions and well balanced spices.

One thing to note: the dragon sauce is extremely hot. If you’re someone who loves seriously spicy food, you’ll probably enjoy it, but it’s definitely not for the faint of heart.

All in all, a nice spot with good service and flavorful dishes, especially for anyone looking to kick their spice level up a notch.

GOAT DC is a fantastic spot that easily deserves a solid 4 stars. The service really stood out — the staff were warm, attentive, and went above and beyond by helping us celebrate a birthday with a complimentary cake, which was such a thoughtful touch.

The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy a good meal. The food overall was very good, and their lamb qorma was excellent — tender, flavorful, and beautifully seasoned. A couple of dishes could have been a bit more consistent, but nothing that took away from the experience in a meaningful way.

This is THE BEST Indian food I have ever bad. The service was quick and friendly. The vibe of the whole restaurant was such a vibe too!

We got the Tiki Masala and I appreciated that they let you choose the slice level on any entree. The cocktails were pretty good as well.

Highly recommend!

I’m very picky about Indian food. Even when a place gets the food right, something always feels missing usually the service. But The GOAT Room in DC was different. The food tasted truly Punjabi, the drinks were amazing, and the customer service was incredible. We’re not easy to impress, but this was a solid 5/5. Everything was on point.

Also try the tandoori wings and the Punjabi dessert. Sooo good!

Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. This is definitely the best Indian food I’ve had in D.C! Service was top notch as well. There was a bit of a longer wait for the food, but absolutely worth it!

First things first, STAFF TOP TIER! Several people came to my table to check on me, offered their opinions, and explained the menu while I was deciding. I’m not familiar with the cuisine, so that was very helpful. Butter chicken was suggested since I’m allergic to onion and nuts. EXCELLENT CHOICE. The food was hot, seasoned perfectly and downright, delicious. I had the pomegranate iced tea, but I wasn’t a fan. Now, if they switched it to pomegranate lemonade, sign me up. I will be back and I’ll bring people with me.

Update: I brought a friend with me on a subsequent visit and she also ordered the butter chicken and she thought it tasted outstanding too.

Great flavors and friendly atmosphere. While service was a bit slow, they waited upon us with love for the food and its flavors. Chicken Vindaloo was rich, spicy and outstanding.
