It is hard to put into words how incredible The Rod and Gun is. My fiance and I rented out the bar to kick off our wedding week, and we had an absolute blast. The Rod and Gun team went above and beyond to make our night special. The drinks were great, music was awesome, and the space was so special. Highly recommend visiting the Rod and Gun while in town.

One of the coolest bars in the coolest location. The atmosphere is so cool and has a vintage feel. The staff are great! The cocktail menu is pretty unique and you can tell that a lot of thought and care went into it. Can’t wait to visit again!

It’s an experience that’s hard to explain, because you just have to be there to understand it. This iconic spot in Stanley was once a classic old dive bar – dark and dingy, but had character of course… until Tripp came along and elevated it into a sophisticated & smooth, yet still a-little-divey mountain bar, that has all the right things, in all the right places. Don’t sleep on this one, because it will surprise you!

We were a few minutes late past closing time due to traveling and many many deer and elk running in front of us on the ride through the mountains, but she still gave us each a shot, a good, healthy shot. That’s what mattered it was awesome and the bathroom was so cool. Just very unique atmosphere. I loved it and they were good people

I did not order any foods so the four stars I gave them was based on what I saw on other people’s plates and what was in the cabinet.I will fallow up on that. The atmosphere and the service was top.Not the folks that waited on me were patients since I had never been there before and did not know where to order and where to pick up the food. But they were very pleasant and patient.

Come here for beers. Shuffleboard, pool, and other games available or sit at the bar and join in conversation. No food, but will let you bring food in.

Tripp has done an amazing job with this place. If you’re going to go through the trouble of coming up to Stanley, reward yourself by stopping here for a drink. It is big enough for a crowd but still feels like the world’s greatest dive bar. Because it is. You will meet some amazing people and chances are you’ll get to meet the owner who regularly spends his time serving behind the bar. Can’t say enough about Tripp and the environment he has maintained and renewed at the same time.

Best little hangout in town. First time visiting Stanley and decided to stop by for a drink, (or three). Enjoyed the ambiance, customer service on point. Well done.

This is an authentic, iconic locals bar that welcomes everyone & a must stop in charming Stanley! The new owner has created an inviting space & outstanding cocktail menu. We especially enjoyed the Martinis, the Mezcal Paloma and the frosty beers! There is no food at this time.
Pool, darts and shuffleboard will entertain, or relax in the comfy conversation areas. We can wait to travel through again to visit this old, but new bar!

There are not enough stars for this place! My husband and I travel a lot and are always looking for a place that really signifies the area to sit and talk to locals and people from all over. The new owner ,Trip, has done an incredible job creating such place. From the detailed engravings of the salmon river on the Bar-top to the warm stone fireplace and local decor, you are given an authentic feel of what stanly represents. One can play a game of pool , tabletop shuffle board or socialize with friends at one of several comfortable seating areas. The staff and the owner set the tone and all that walk through the door are made to feel like friends. Whether you are just looking for a good drink or want to experience the true feel of Stanley , The Rod and Gun is the place!! Anyone coming from within the area or outside needs to put this on their list !!!
