When we arrived, I realized that the vegetarian option for their other burger was out of stock. Since the Veggie Shack was unavailable, I ended up having to order the Shroom Burger. The wait time for our order was around 20 to 30 minutes. It was a busy time and the store had just opened, so I would say the wait time was reasonable for that specific day. What made me feel a bit let down was that only the Shroom Burger was available, especially since I specifically came there for the Veggie Shack.
The layout and seating are very nice. I love the system for each of the menus where you can either order to go or for dining in, and they give you different tags for each. The flow of the restaurant is quite good and I enjoyed our time eating there comfortably. The place is also quite clean and well-seated. It is not too loud, so you are able to hear other people even though it is busy.
We ordered the Shroom Burger along with fries and some drinks. The burger was not to my liking. It did not have many toppings, just tomato and lettuce, and a patty that felt like it was reheated. It was put into two burger buns that were cold or not toasted, which tasted quite lazy and rushed. I wish there was more variety within this specific burger. The patty itself was not for me, but this is a personal preference since I do not like the cheese filling inside the patty or the extremely flaky and dry exterior. This might appeal to someone else, but it did not suit my taste buds. The fries were decent. I actually prefer fries from other burger places, but these were edible.
Surprisingly, the best part of this place is the drinks. They are absolutely phenomenal and I would highly recommend visiting just for them. We ordered the Pomegranate Sweet Basil Lemonade, which hit the spot with its sourness and fruitiness. We also had the Mango Passionfruit, which felt like a guilty pleasure filled with a tropical taste that satisfied my craving. It felt like a blessing to drink after a not so impressive meal.
Overall, I would say that this place is decent. Perhaps some people would absolutely love it, while others would find it average. The food is a hit or miss for most. I have not tried the Veggie Shack yet, but I would not mind trying it again. The drinks are excellent and I would go back for them again.
The restaurant is in their opening phase, so obviously they’re very busy yet staff are so kind, customers are served timely. They keep busy with constantly cleaning tables and emptying trash and they also came by to ask me if my food is good and if I needed anything else.
Pro Tip: If you place order “to-go,” they package it up for you nicely so that you can still sit down and eat at restaurant if you choose to do that (theres a box inside the bag that you can use as a tray).
One more thing: I did not notice any alcoholic bevvies at this location. Usually they have the ShakeShack house wines in cans but I did not see that offered at this location. I haven’t been to Shake Shack in a couple of months so I dont know if theyre phasing it out or if its just not ready at this location yet. : )
This Shake Shack is located in outdoor type mall, “The Village,” the newest part of the Tacoma Mall which is currently going through massive expansion phase. Next to Shake Shack, several new stores are coming including Dave’s Hot Chicken and Gong Cha (omg!). Love Sac couch store is already open. There’s plenty of parking and getting in and out of “The Village” was easy. I love using their app for promo deals and ordering ahead, so I definitely recommend that if you want to save some time and your dollas this holiday szn!
Just super crowded and the cashier took 15 minutes to figure out how to work the cashier.
Just got my food. Took 40 minutes and both my burgers were cold and fries
I think the burger was half cooked.
See you soon
