Shari, the owner, was wonderful. We had a nice conversation about days gone by. This family owned piece of Americana is absolutely one of the best breakfast and lunch old timey American restaurants I’ve been to. And I’ve been to a lot. The granddaughter Christina, was pretty, intellectual, engaging, and very thought-provoking concerning the future. This family owned facility is full of love and built on hard work and an insatiable drive to give the community something of quality.

Don’t let the fancy joints fool you, they charge twice as much, and put down places that are tried and true. When some new sheeple arrives on the scene, with their snoot in the air, and puts down those that have plowed the road for them, that’s pretty sad. And obnoxious!

My wife my sister and myself enjoyed our breakfast. There was enough food to feed six people not just three. The pancakes were delicious The omelets are fantastic, (and huge) an order of sausage is actually four links which is extremely rare anywhere now. I love the wheat toast,(Brownberry)’ You get enough butter for everything! My wife ordered some Canadian bacon and she loved it. The orange juice was fresh squeezed, literally! Some pulp, and a lot of flavor. You couldn’t ask for better. And the specialty coffees are through the roof Good! Their regular coffee is no slouch either. Prices are very fair for what you get. It really is a feast. This establishment has been around since the entire area was corn fields, so that tells you, the type of food you’re going to get, and eat like farmers eat. Working folk! I’ll tell you you won’t be disappointed.

Oh and by the way, naugahyde?

Some of the most delicious outback food joints have naugahyde seats. Why is that a problem? My 280 million views say it’s not a problem at all!

My husband and me went out for breakfast at Pancake Cafe. We used to live in Bolingbrook so it was very close. But have moved to Oswego. So thought it would be great to go back. The food was very good as usual. They have a beautiful restaurant. Lots of stain glass light fixtures. Plus they have a lot of other stains glass
glass. The staff was very friendly and tender to us on a timely matter. Asking if we needed anything else, plus filling up our coffee cups. We had a wonderful breakfast and enjoyed ourselves.

Great food!! The french toast and pancakes have always been a favorite. Unfortunately, I had a strange experience the last time I ordered here. I walked in to purchase a take home frozen apple pancake (so it’s premade and already packaged). When checking out, I didn’t write a tip because I was not waited on and this was a take home order. Unfortunately, the lady checking me out said “Hmm, no tip?”. This surprised me and I haven’t been back since. I always tip well when I am out to eat but this seemed like excessive tipping culture and quite rude to say to a customer.

Pancake Café is a solid breakfast spot, but what keeps me coming back is the service.

From my very first visit, my server Frankie remembered me and my order.

He’s friendly, attentive, and genuine. That kind of service makes all the difference.

Food sucked. Nothing but pancakes and waffles on the menu.Service was close to non existent. I was the only person in the restaurant and I had to wait about 20 mins to have her run my credit card. Server was sitting a few tables down just talking to someone. 4/10. Not coming here again .

Lovely place for friends to meet! We went on a weekday late morning and did not have to wait for a table. Table service was attentive with our waitress checking on us several times. Food was delicious (generous portions) and the presentation was amazing! I especially enjoyed the crepes. They were the best I’ve had in a long time!

Probably the best corned beef hash in Illinois! The French toast, eggs, and hash browns were incredible as well. Thanks to Shari for being an amazing waitress. Can’t wait to come back.

I stopped by for a weekday breakfast and overall had a good experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was served quickly. I enjoyed the blueberry pancakes and the bottomless coffee — both were satisfying.

One small downside was the condition of the utensils and glassware; they seemed quite old and had visible scratches, which made them feel less clean even though they were probably washed. A refresh on those would really improve the overall feel.

Still, it was a cozy spot and I’d consider coming back.

Ordered the apple pancake (delicious!) and eggs Benedict. The eggs were undercooked, so they brought out a new plate, but reused the same now cold hash browns from the first one . Waitress and checkout staff were kind and accommodating.
