⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Authentic Nepali Comfort Food & Amazing Flavors!

I had a fantastic dining experience at Himalaya Kosheli Nepali & Indian and would highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic Nepali food with rich flavors and heartwarming hospitality.

I ordered:
• Steam Chicken Momo
• Chicken Jhol Momo
• Chicken Thupka
• Chicken Lollipop

Every single dish was delicious and freshly prepared. The Steam Chicken Momos were soft, juicy, and packed with well-seasoned chicken filling — just like you’d expect from a true Nepali kitchen. The Chicken Jhol Momo was the star of the night! The flavorful soup-like curry was perfectly spiced and comforting, making it a must-try dish.

The Chicken Thupka (Nepali noodle soup) was warm, hearty, and full of fresh vegetables and tender chicken. It instantly felt like homemade comfort food. The Chicken Lollipop was crispy outside, tender inside, and paired well with their dipping sauce — a great appetizer to kick off the meal.

The service was friendly and welcoming, and I really appreciated the cozy atmosphere. You can tell the food here is made with love and authenticity. Whether you love Nepali cuisine or want to try something new, this place won’t disappoint!

✅ Delicious food
✅ Authentic flavors
✅ Great portions
✅ Friendly service

I’ll definitely be coming back again! Highly recommend!

After visiting this unassuming restaurant twice in a month, we are convinced the chef and cooks are stellar. The offerings in the buffet are cooked to perfection with every dish absolutely delicious and healthy. This cannot be by accident. The servers are very attentive and constantly replenish the different dishes as needed so it is always fresh. The restaurant is spotless and one can easily get fooled by the sleepy location. We cannot recommend this little gem for Himalayan and Indian delicacies. They have been open for several years now and we hope for many more years to come. Though we live over an hour drive away, we will be back often. Bravo.

Himalaya Kosheli is a hidden gem! The food is authentic and delicious, the workers are incredibly friendly and show great hospitality, and the menu is expansive with reasonable pricing.

FAST FACTS:
* Parking – good size lot in front of the building with free parking
* Online ordering – available through their website for pickup
* Closed on Mondays
* Lunch buffet available from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm Tuesday through Sunday

SERVICE – The workers are all super pleasant and friendly! We were greeted as soon as we walked in, they made sure we had refills and cleared dishes throughout the meal, and even made us complimentary chai teas to take with us because it was freezing rain outside. All the food came out quickly and they checked on us several times to make sure we had what we needed. Couldn’t ask for anything else!

PRICING – The total was $82.27 after tax ($6.27) but before tip for a banana lassi ($5), chicken momo ($12), pork thukpa ($13.50), Himalaya goat curry ($17.50), achari chicken ($15), garlic naan ($4), jalapeño naan with cheese ($4.50), and Kosheli naan ($4.50). I think the pricing is reasonable considering the food quality and portion size.

BANANA LASSI (8/10) – Refreshing and delicious! Good level of sweetness and wasn’t overpowering with banana flavor. I’d order this again.

CHICKEN MOMO (10/10) – A must order! You get 10 momo with dipping sauces. They were steamed perfectly and the chicken filling was so flavorful! The sauces aren’t even needed but are delicious as well, especially the spicy one.

PORK THUKPA (9/10) – The thukpa soup was PHENOMENAL! The broth was packed with flavor and you get a great portion size… it’s perfect to split as an appetizer! The noodles were a perfect texture and the raw red onion, tomato, and cilantro on top added a great element of freshness. The pork was good but slightly tough… I’d order this with a different protein next time.

HIMALAYA GOAT CURRY (8/10) – The curry is super hearty and aromatic… it has an earthy flavor with plenty of herbs and spices. The goat was super tender and also packed with flavor! You get a cup of basmati rice on the side. Definitely worth trying!

ACHARI CHICKEN (10/10) – This was the unexpected favorite! I absolutely LOVED the acidity from the Nepali pickles and the chicken was super tender. It was labeled as spicy on the menu but I didn’t get much heat. One of my favorite curries I’ve had! Again, you get a cup of basmati rice on the side. I’d order this again and recommend it to others!

GARLIC NAAN (7/10) – Very good but on the thinner side compared to some naan. Plenty of garlic flavor and crispy bites throughout. I’d order this again.

JALAPENO NAAN WITH CHEESE (8/10) – This is the perfect Texas fusion… not authentic by any means but delicious! There’s no spice but you get the jalapeño flavor and it’s packed with cheese on the inside! It’s thicker and fluffier so it’s very filling. I’d order this again.

KOSHELI NAAN (10/10) – I’ve never had anything like this… absolutely delicious! It’s a sweet naan and can be enjoyed like a dessert. I don’t know everything that was in the filling but there’s definitely coconut and it tastes almost like a sugar cookie. I will order this every time I come!

This was my first time at Himalaya Kosheli and I already can’t wait to go back! It’s a beautiful fusion of Nepalese and Indian food with top-notch service and an extensive menu of unique offerings. I absolutely want to try the lunch buffet next time I’m there! I will recommend Himalaya Kosheli to anyone in the north Austin area looking for flavorful food with reasonable prices and great hospitality!

If you’re craving a buffet that hasn’t been shrinkflated than this place hits the mark. The lunch spread at Himalaya Kosheli offers a generous selection of various dishes and doesn’t skimp on the meats. The variety is the real winner and the quality is up there for a buffet. My only complaint is the chicken was on the dryer side. My favorite was the creaminess of the palak paneer combined with the juiciness of the lamb. When I come back I’m for sure getting more of that combo.

It wasn’t busy on a Friday around noon but the dishes were still stocked and fresh naan kept coming out. They even have hot chai on tap.

Prices are also so good for a buffet you could get a variety plate for less than the cost of most entrees at other similar places.

Best Nepalese food I have ever had. I had the buffet and I surprisingly liked the vegetarian dishes better than the ones with meat. The naan bread was freshly made and almost dissolved in my mouth.

The food was sooo yummy! We tried the vegetable momos — super tasty and packed with flavor! The lacha paratha and malai kofta was also amazing — soft, flaky, and just hit the spot.

Service was quick, and the staff were super friendly and polite. Loved the overall vibe — definitely coming back again!

I ordered chicken momo from them when I was really starving and the momo I received got red stains on both sets. With the food quality concern, I called them and told them about the stains but they were so rude and said you didn’t order from us and get the refund from uber eats . They were showing attitude to me saying it is the first time that happened repeatedly and I told them that I wanted to talk to the owner but surprisingly the owner himself was talking in such a bad manner who claimed he packed the momo by himself and he was like “sometimes it happens” like really? This is what you say to a customer when they call you to out of their health concerns? They not just wasted food but my time because I had to re order the food again and it will never be from them from today .

This place is tucked in corner of a strip mall .
We came in when restaurant was closing but were warmly greeted by staff who even eagerly sat us down.
1. We tried their Veg Kothey Momos. I think these momos are different than what you expect at a regular Nepalese/Indo Chinese restaurant. The Kothey Momos were pan fried and had vegetable filling.

I would rate it 8/10. Definitely worth trying.
2. We tried ‘ Mushroom Sekuwa’ . It had a unique flavor because the Mushrooms were marinated and barbecued in mustard Oil. It was served a with a small side salad and rice which helped absorb some of the strong flavor. I would rate it 8/10. Loved the strong and unique flavor profile.

3. We tried Veg Chowmein and asked the staff for a spicy touch. The chowmein was a delish as I was able to devour straight out of the plate. It has the flavor of the WoK tossed noodles that are famous in Indo-Chinese cuisine. I will rate it a solid 9/10.

Overall , I think we found a Nepali gem that I am excited to repeat again! Highly recommended.

I’m not familiar with Nepali cuisine so I can’t evaluate its authenticity but I can say that everything I tried was delicious. I had the lunch buffet and tried to get a taste of everything. I have to say that I enjoyed the vegetarian dishes as much if not more than the interesting range of meats. But it was all good. Very reasonably priced and excellent service too. Highly recommend. I know that I will be back.
