El Tiz is one of those spots that doesn’t care about trends, and thank God for that. It’s the kind of place that quietly earns your trust over time, one taco at a time.
Yesterday I stopped in for lunch and noticed a new ribeye taco on the menu. $5.99 might sound steep for a single taco, but it’s the kind of taco that makes you forgive yourself halfway through the first bite. Perfectly seasoned, a touch of char, and that rich beef flavor that makes you wonder why you didn’t order two and call it a day.
Still, I couldn’t resist chasing it with the bistec street tacos, crisped just to the edge of indulgence, exactly how I like them. El Tiz has always nailed their trompo, and the La Gringa here remains one of my personal favorites in the city. Pro tip: if you’re hungry, the fajita nachos (not pictured) are dangerously good.
Is this the best taquería in Dallas? Probably not. But it’s one of the most consistently satisfying. The kind of joint that welcomes gringos like me without judgment, serves the food hot, and keeps it honest.
It’s the place you find yourself coming back to, not for hype, but because it never lets you down.

I was actually next door at the bank and stopped here. I didn’t know what I wanted so I asked the guy at the front what he recommended. Picture below. While waiting, I saw them bring out some hot soup and I asked what it was, they actually gave me a small sample and it was good. It has stripe in it. I’m Nigerian so I eat that all the time. They all were extremely nice. EVERYONE. I felt welcomed. Thanks guys. Told y’all I’d leave a review. I’ll be back to try something else. Next time, ill look at the pictures on google review

Such a staple on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon. Everything on the menu is deliciously prepared, and you can switch up your usual choice without fear of change. The tostadas de tinga, menudo (weekends), and bistec torta are some of my favorites. All the servers are kind and attentive. Always a solid choice!

I feel that when you go to a restaurant the waiter should always be nice. This group of waiters are awesome.
They greeted as you walked in and helped with finding a table.
Food: they start you off with a little bowl/cup of beans with cilantro it was great. The tacos were good too not too grease and served w lots of meat. They give you your sides salsas cilantro and onion.
Environments: the places was full inside and out in the patio its clean and of course music.
They do have beers and what it looked like margaritas there is a bar.
Over all I give it a 5 stars and would and will recommend.

Is good but not the best . I had the sope not what I expected it to be . To me a sope is thicker with more flavor . This sope was like a big home made tortilla with everything a sope has. I could had just ordered tacos . I eat it yes was good but won’t be back. But be ur own critic and u can at least say I’ve been thire .

Been here a few times and it’s always delicious no matter what I order. I would say the tortas are favorite. The chips and salsa are amazing. They also have good house margaritas. The service has always been great. I will continue to come back here for some good Mexican food.

Great place to hang out, especially out on the patio when the weather in nice! The staff is great and treat you well. The waiter Estuardo is phenomenal, he is on top of it. The entire staff are always happy and smiling. The food is great, I’ve tried pretty much everything and I have not been disappointed yet. You are given a free bowl of black beans I typically do not eat black beans but they are delicious here. The bartender Flaco is awesome and knows how to make those drinks! The mangorita is my favorite but so are the Mexican candy shots. Everything on the bar menu is fabulous. Give it a try you will not regret it. Oh I almost forgot about the flan! It is the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had plenty. Oh that botana platter is fabulous it is enough for 4 people, it’s a great deal! Ok I’m done lol
