Celebrated my friend’s birthday here yesterday, and it was a phenomenal experience top to bottom. Everything we tried was delicious. We had the silk elephant spring roll, salmon dumpling, pork & shrimp dumpling, the specialty dish, the lamb lollipop in the green curry, the grilled lamb, pad see ew, crab crowns, a salad, and I might be forgetting some things. There wasn’t a single bad bite! Can’t wait for the next time I get to come so I can try even more menu items.

Lovely Thai place. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Sat at the bar as most of the restaurant was pretty full and groups still waiting for a table.
I love they have a tapas section of the menu. Lots of small portions of other menu items so you can get a good tasting. I had the Taro spring rolls, salmon dumplings, Thai style grilled pork chop (large for a tapas portion and served on a salad), and pumpkin curry with tofu. The size of the pork chop I didn’t really need the curry but ate as much as I could. The tofu in the curry was a large portion, practically the equivalent of a chicken breast. Also had a lychee martini which was very good.
College football was on the TV at the bar. It seemed very quiet for so many people, so assumed everyone was enjoying their food.

Had dinner here for the first time recently and it was a solid 4/5. We had the fresh rolls to start, which were good but could’ve used a little more tofu. I had the Pad Thai and it was super tasty!

For those wanting vegan or vegetarian options, Silk Elephant has you covered. Their kitchen is able to modify a lot of the dishes to accommodate different dietary preferences or requirements. Regardless of modifications, their food is delicious and consistently so. My partner had the beef soup, similar to a Pho, while had the noodle curry. The drinks are very reasonable so my partner and I split a lychee martini which as balanced and a refreshing aperitif before lunch.
The noodle curry is everything you hope a curry to be: rich, creamy, somewhat spicy, and deep in flavor. The noodles make it somehow feel more decedent or at minimum comforting. You get the he occasional citrus punch from the cilantro which cuts through the curry and brings everything back to a fresher note.
Behind the journey of flavors you’ll go on while dining there, the portion sizes are generous. I could not finish and took someone for lunch the next day! The service was prompt and friendly. And the restaurant always feels very clean and well managed to me. I’m happily a repeat customer and am rarely disappointed.
Also, side note: the Thai basil dish here is also well worth a visit. Deep and rich in umami flavors with a spicy kick! Love it and it’s my usual order. Although, the noodle curry with tofu might be my new regular order option!

I ordered lunch through door dash. DD was awesome and they got my food here on time. It was still hot. The food itself was extremely disappointing. I purchased the vegetable dumplings and pad thai with tofu. I took a bite of a dumpling and not only could I not tell what was in it, it had no flavor. I had 2 coworkers try them and they also agreed that whatever was stuffed into the dumpling was unidentifiable; just a white/grayish mush. I am vegan, which I did write in the order notes, so I didn’t even want to try a second bite in case it was meat. The tofu in the pad thai was actually pretty good which is the only reason I’m giving it 2 stars. It was a container full of nearly flavorless rice noodles, several pieces of green onion, 7 bites of tofu (I counted), and crushed peanuts. Fortunately the dumpling sauce was tasty so I poured it over the noodles. Barely a vegetable in sight. I can find better tofu with significantly better ingredients in at least a dozen other places.

It was an amazing dine-in experience. We had such a great time..great staff, delicious food especially the Tapas! We had Pas Thai Veg and Noodles Curry with chicken and shrimp . They were nice. The Thai iced tea was so refreshing. We also loved the Siam Paragon-a must try for seafood lovers! The veg spring roll, corn fritters and the dumplings were great too. We loved visiting here and can’t wait to go back. A very nice ambience to dine-in.

Stumbled across Silk elephant after the Pittsburgh rain storms. Immediately im amazed by not only the atmosphere, but the prices! On top of that, Generous portions, fast -friendly service, & affordable. This place has all the potential to be a hidden gem that I would definitely gatekeep. But, the food fell a little short.

Food: Salmon dumplings 10/10 these need a bigger portion !!!
Crab crowns: 9/10 nothing special but not skimpy on the filling and dripping sauce was nice
Pakang curry: 8/10 solid choice. good but skimpy chicken portion. Going to be a lot of veggies and very little protein.
Calamari:….very overcooked couldn’t even rip a bite off. Despite it being over cooked, this & the crab crowns arrived to the table cold! The ( very nice) lady attending to us was very nice and obliged my request of having it remade just so I could enjoy a hot meal(shoutout to her) Maybe 7 mins later I’m presented with the same plates I sent back just with visibly darker food now. So they reheated food that already touched the table and my person. I work in food service so this threw me off for healthy and safety reasons. Besides from that I enjoyed my dining experience and would be willing to give it another try should the health conditions approve.

Visited silk elephant on a Friday evening, and it was pretty full, although there were a couple of tables free, and we were able to get seated right away. The decor and ambience of the place are quite standard and nothing exotic or extraordinary, but the service is personalised and quick. The food to be honest is just okay. I started with a Tom kha soup, which is one of my favourite Thai soups, and while the flavours were largely there, it was by no way authentic. It was missing Kafir lime leaves, as well as there were bell peppers in the soup, which are not traditional at all. Then we had the noodles wrapped shrimp, which to be honest was a bad decision on our part. It was very noodle forward, and we couldn’t taste the shrimp at all. I had the basil fried rice, which was probably the best dish of the night for me with really plump shrimps and a good quantity of rice, and all the flavours that I expect from Thai fried rice. My friend had the Pad Kee Mao which tasted more like a pad see ew. The spice which you expect from the pad kee mao were missing. I guess the flavours have been modified to suit to the local palette which obviously takes away a bit from the authenticity of the cuisine. I would definitely order the fried rice again, but I don’t know if I would want to order the other dishes again.

Used to love them but the quality has gone down in recent months. Their noodle entrees are just kind of bland especially for their higher prices and light amount of protein (though the curries are still tasty), and their chicken can be a little woody, which is why I don’t get their chicken satay anymore.
Staff is always great though, and I would highly recommend their fresh rolls and rack of lamb tapas.

The taro spring roll was very good with the sauce is excellent. The tom yum was average for me, it needs a little bit kick on spices. The papaya salad was good although having it with the grilled chicken and the sticky rice were a little bit off. The beef noodles kinda bland to me, we expected something sweet and spicy but instead it was just a beef broth not so flavorful and they threw slices of beef on it with some cilantro.
The server was giving us good service and the atmosphere was cozy and on theme.
