5/5 – Hands Down the Best Food Spot in Detroit!
I’m from Austin, Texas, and for the three weeks l’ve been here in Detroit, Wally’s Fish & Chicken has been the best food spot l’ve tried–no question about it! The food is always hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. The chicken tenders are perfectly crispy and coated in that sweet and spicy sauce that keeps you coming back for more. The fries are seasoned just right, and everything from the mac salad to the desserts hits the spot.
What really makes Wally’s stand out is the customer service-it’s unbeatable. Everyone there is friendly, fast, and makes you feel genuinely appreciated. You can tell they take pride in what they do.
If you’re in Detroit and haven’t tried Wally’s yet, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won’t regret it!

I’m only in town for a short visit, but I ended up eating lunch at Wally’s Fish and Chicken both days I was here and I’m so glad I did! I made it a point to try every kind of fish they offer, and honestly, each one was better than the last. Everything was cooked to perfection, crispy, flavorful, and super fresh.
What really stood out, though, was the customer service. Both times I came in, the folks at the counter were incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful. They took the time to explain the different fish options and made great recommendations. Wally hooked me up with 1 piece of every fish since he knew I was leaving soon. You can tell they care about what they do and want their customers to have a great experience.

I was in Detroit for the evening waiting on an early morning flight. Something about Wally’s grabbed my eye, and am so glad that it did!. Great customer service and attitude by the staff. Food was fantastic. I will definitely make this my stop the next time that I’m in the area. Thank you!!

I came in last minute to buy chicken for a funeral repass & was not disappointed. The chicken was hot and ready within 15 minutes. The young African American woman was very nice and professional. I will be back again.

The customer service is deplorable! Called up to this restaurant and the lady proceeded to ask for my order. After placing the order she stressed we had to pay at store and that we couldn’t even place it over the phone. While in the middle of asking her a question she hangs up the phone. Not even a second later I called back and she said they’re no longer accepting orders. No one’s forcing you to work customer service. YOU’RE choosing to work. It’s actually so unsettling when a staff is so casually rude and it really ruins the experience

It was my 1st time trying this place. Enjoyed the perch dinners I purchased. Wanted more fish than fries tho (they seemed to overwhelm the main thang lol.)

About 4 days ago my aunt ordered us a catfish and shrimp combo from here. I’ve never had any issues from here until this very last time we ordered from here. I ate my food and instantly started feeling bad after an hour. Me and my aunt were sick for 3 days straight with food poisoning! I thought it was the lemon pepper making my stomach hurt but lemon pepper isn’t going to make someone vomit, have diarrhea, bad stomach cramps, no appetite, and dehydrated!

From out of state, and staying down the road from here. Everytime we drove by it smelled so good we had to finally stop and definitely wasn’t disappointed. Ordered 2 pieces of cod, 2 pieces of tilapia, the chicken strip and fries and the chicken wings and fries. All of it was cooked perfect. Hot and fresh and customer service was great. Will be back for sure before we leave

Won’t return here. Very poor service. Food is below average. I got cheated out of a piece of fish. I ordered the small dinner & it’s supposed to come with 2 pieces. I only got one. Didn’t receive Cole slaw. Fries were burnt & not even edible. Please don’t go here. I definitely won’t return. This place sucks! POOR POOR POOR

This is what you call the SPOT!! Everything is on the SPOT from the food to the hospitality and customer service!!! I Recommend this place to anyone who hasn’t tried it! Lemon pepper is where it’s at!!! The price is amazing and the food is phenomenal!
