Stopped by the new tropical cafe the Thursday morning 10/16, cafe was beautiful and clean. We ordered a few southwest wraps and a smoothie. Two young girls took my order. My issue was you can overhear one of the young girls talking crap about the wraps and the oven, and the worst part was both of them making our wraps DID NOT have gloves on even after touching the register and blenders. Once we got home and opened our wraps they were half unwrapped, greasy and just a hot mess. I am really disappointed, they need supervision or at least a manager there to oversee them, they should not be running this store alone. Ill continue to drive down to Oaks since they are a bit more experienced.

This Location Must Treat Customers with Respect
I ordered a simple Pomegranate Plunge smoothie online today at 7:00 PM and honestly, I’m very disappointed with how everything went. It took way too long for them to make just one smoothie, and even after it was ready, it sat off to the side for several minutes instead of being placed in the online pickup spot. I had to go up to an employee myself, show my order, and only then did they hand it to me and apologize.
When I got home and took a sip, it was basically just crushed ice with no flavor at all. It didn’t even taste like a smoothie. I called the store to report it, and they told me to come back for a replacement. I drove back around 7:45 PM, explained everything to a lady at the counter, and returned the first drink. The manager agreed it was way too icy and gave me a new one, which I appreciated.
But what really upset me was what happened as I was leaving — two female employees were laughing loudly and acting like the situation was some kind of joke. It felt very disrespectful and unprofessional. No customer deserves to be treated like that, especially after being patient and polite.
The owner seriously needs to address this behavior. I’ve noticed other reviews mentioning the same issue with employees laughing at customers, and now I completely understand why. This location needs better customer service and a reminder that customers deserve respect, not mockery.

I visited a week after this place opened. Our go to are the smoothies & açaí bowls. My first engagement with the cashier was great – he appeared to be a manager. However it took a while for my order to get ready. I ordered a smoothie and a flatbread. Unfortunately had I not asked again if my order was ready, my items would have sat at that counter The food is good but the service and supervision leaves a lot to be desired. I now order online first so it’s a quick pick up.

I’ve been here twice since they opened this week. Being a pescatarian, concerns of mine are always cross-contamination, food safety, and being seen as a nuisance to staff. I’m very positive and polite whenever I go out to eat. I believe service workers are under appreciated. They need to be compensated appropriately for their effort. That being said the staff is great here. Usually when a new business opens, there’s chaos due to lack of training. My usual is the Veggie Hummus, a bag of Miss Vickie’s chips, & a Green Detox Smoothie. That being said, the food quality is good. My hummus wrap was great. Not too overpowering and not bland either. The Detox smoothie was great too. Well blended. No chunks. My only concern is some food safety issues. My sister caught a worker not wearing gloves when he wrapped her sandwich. He had just finished washing dishes. Like I said, there’s growing pains, when you’re opening a new store & having to train staff. I expect that to be addressed. I just hope this business lasts. Not too many people there both times I’ve been there. It just sucks because this area doesn’t have too many options when it comes to healthier eating. The service other than that was quick and attentive. Several workers asked me if I needed help despite being overworked with orders. I was waiting for my sister and my phone had died. One of the workers allowed to use his phone and text her. I recommend tipping if you can.

Visited this new location on 10/24 around 11:45am. I walked in and waited in line for about 5 minutes with no else in front of me, I didn’t mind since I figured they had online orders to do but the girl working didn’t bother to acknowledge me. She took my order and I let her know I had a coupon to use and when it didn’t get taken off she got annoyed and said I’ll need to get my manager. The manager also seemed kind of annoyed, I guess I was supposed to tell them I had a coupon before I ordered anything is what he told me. I’ll be sure to do that next time. After 10 minutes I noticed my order and another customers behind me order sitting on the counter and finally when the other customer spoke up they handed us the orders. The manager also had handed me my quesadilla with the box flipped to where it was all lopsided, which again not a big deal but keeping it up right is a small gesture that makes a difference so the food doesn’t get messed up. My smoothie was also made wrong which I kindly let them know and he said “ that’s not what it says on the receipt” and I let him know I did order my smoothie with dark chocolate not white. Overall the food was good, smoothie was good but customer service really does make a difference and makes or breaks your visit. (The girl that took my order was also not in uniform at all, I’ve had many friends work at tropical and I found that a little weird)

We placed a mobile order, and when my husband arrived to pick it up, the staff hadn’t started preparing it. He waited patiently, and once the smoothie was made, it was oddly set aside instead of being handed to him. Only after someone asked if he had ordered did they give it to him with a quick apology.
When we got home, we realized it wasn’t the Pomegranate Plunge we ordered. It tasted more like a slushie with barely any flavor. My husband called the store, and someone offered to remake it, which we appreciated. We returned around 7:45 pm with the original drink and explained the situation to a staff member (fair girl) who was cleaning and explained her the situation, then there came a short – hair fully braided girl she started shouting the boy name and then he arrived and gave us the order. Agreeing the first order was fully ice.
Then, when we were about to leave the girls began laughing loudly…. ♀️
Given the situation, this felt disgusting, disrespectful and unprofessional.
We understand mistakes happen, but consistent service and courtesy go a long way—especially when trying to resolve an issue.

I absolutely love this Tropical Smoothie Cafe! The staff here are always friendly and welcoming, and they make my order perfectly every time. The smoothies are fresh, flavorful, and never watered down. I especially love the Bahama Mama and Peanut Paradise they’re always blended just right! The food is also great quick, healthy options that taste amazing. The place is clean, bright, and has a relaxing vibe. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Pottstown for a healthy pick-me-up!

This was one of the worst experience I have had at a fast food pla e in a long time. Walked no one said a word, I had to say excuse me to get someone to look up. I never saw the one man changes his gloves after handing money. The girl in the back had he hair down very long not in a hat or hair net no gloves on touching food. They all look so miserable. I ordered my food and several people came in after me and ordered and received their fodd prior to me and i only ordered a flat bread sandwhich others ordered drinks and multiple sandwhichs and got theirs first. Got back to my office and opened the sandwhich the flatbread is hard not edible at all. Would not recommend this new location by Costco in Sanatoga PA.
