Tucked away from the city’s hustle, this small, quaint juke joint feels like stepping into a warm embrace from the Deep South—the staff is incredibly friendly, greeting you like long-lost family and wrapping you in genuine warmth from the first hello.

The food is pure, authentic bliss: as southern as it gets within 200 miles, delivering that true home-cooked soul without ever leaving you feeling bloated or heavy—just deeply satiating, the kind that reminds you home is wherever there’s honest, comforting cooking like this. A wave of silence fell over the dining room while we ate. That’s when I knew. This place was different. We went for the three-meat plate, loaded with generous sides, golden cornbread, and a tall glass of sweet iced tea—every bite bursting with rich, satisfying flavors, not overly salted or done, it hit just right. But we believe the empty plates speak for themselves.

The service is the very epitome of southern hospitality: attentive, kind, and unpretentious. It’s the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway, far from the noise, where you can unwind, eat well, and leave feeling nourished in every way. Highly recommend—can’t wait to return!

The food was delicious! The owner was an absolute gentleman, even went so far as to explain the menu and talk with us about what they used for their catfish breading.

The restaurant was definitely more intimate than I’m used to but I’ll bet when it’s hopping in there it feels like a party.

I highly recommend the catfish, buttery smooth with a crunchy outside. The hush puppies are to DIE for! Overall amazing service and I’ll be sure to come back with family!

Pulled pork tasted more like roast pork, did not have any bark at all, brisket was good, chicken was alright. All of the meats basically tasted like the barbecue sauce that was put on them. Bit into a knuckle bone and two bay leaves in my pint of red beans and rice, which was the best tasting part of the meal. Staff was wonderful, but I think I’ll continue to smoke my own at home.

The bomb! Tender collards, perfectly cooked chicken, flavorful hush puppies, and THE SAUCE! Also as good as the food were the nice, friendly folks running the place. They sell out a lot, but it’s worth the wait!

Happy to have a tasty restaurant option in our tiny Woodland town. Love the Memphis sweet BBQ sauce. Brisket was great. Cornbread was a corner piece for $6 that felt like it sat out overnight. Super dry and wouldn’t get again. Baked beans was PACKED with bone bits so eat with caution. Great flavor and loved the chunks of brisket in it but yikes! Mac and cheese was KFC quality level and not much flavor which is a pass for me and I love Mac and cheese. This one isn’t it. Would come back just for meat in future. We spent $44 for one meal. They sell out fast. This is the first time we’ve been successful getting food as they close once they sell out. We’d come back and pass on sides. Does look like they have picnic tables out back for summer. There is space for dining inside. We had take out.

What a treat!! It’s absolutely the best BBQ we’ve ever had!!
Go for the Brisket and stay for the pie! Make sure to pick yourself up some seasonings while you’re there.

The BBQ sause itself is in its own right. Homestyle Southern bbq at its finest!!
Prices are very reasonable.

Great conversation & service with the family that owns it. Thank you, Daddy D, for your time today. We enjoyed hearing a little about your family, family history, and your beautiful community.
Love from your newest SoCal friends, Ray & Krysti.

Okay so today we stopped in and had some BBQ. Now we travel all over the country and this has been the best BBQ that We have had in over 15 years. No joke this place is great. The owner himself we met in the morning as he was out back working on his very Large grill as you will see in the photos. Donnie was so nice and kind. He actually does a lot of charity work in the area as well. Just a great man that cooks some really good food. So my wife had the pulled Brisket Sandwich and well let’s just say this is stacked high and is very filling. Covered in his own homemade BBQ sauce. And yes it is homemade. I had the 3 meat combo with ribs, pulled pork and brisket. With a side of baked beans and Mac & Cheese. All again homemade everything here is homemade . This all was very good . We will be in town for a few days we will be going back. If you are ever in town stop and eat here

Off the beaten trail, this place is definitely a hole-in-the wall vibe (not necessarily a bad thing!). A dirty menu was a bit off putting, but the staff was super friendly. We ordered a brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese, as well as a 3 meat platter (brisket, pulled pork, hot links with Mac and cheese and hush puppies).

The Mac and cheese was super mushy and almost box like quality, so definitely pass on that. The hush puppies were top notch! The brisket sandwich was chopped up and drowned in sauce. The hot links.. not so hot, more mild (still decent flavor). As for the meats themselves (both in the sandwich and the platter) – they were perfectly smoked. Juicy and super high quality smoke flavor in all of them. The sauce, however, left a lot to be desired. Really all that it tasted of was sugar – runny sugar.

I maybe not eat in again, but would definitely order take out meats from this place as the meat itself was divine.
