Wonderful atmosphere. We got the squash fritters and a couple of cocktails and everything was great! The bartender was fantastic and even the couple next to us was super friendly. Great staff, great food, great patrons.

I was really worried before we got here and once we got the small menu. But I have to say everything was great. I didn’t get to see the check for the table so I can only go by the prices on the menus. Plus, I seen on Facebook the long time chef has left. Anyway the food was great and good sized portions! We all loved the pork shank appetizer! And, the fall harvest salad was great not too sweet as it sounds like it would be by the description. As per others in the group the flat bread/pizza was good also. Drinks seemed a little pricey. Service was good and if ever in the area again, we would return, especially for the pork shanks.

Consume is one of our fave restaurants in the area! Such a great friendly vibe, cool atmosphere, and fantastic service. The menu is unique and rotates some wonderful specials every month. I’m vegan, while my husband is a meat eater, so sometimes it’s hard to find a place that we both enjoy. Consume consistently has lots of options for both our palates. The servers can even recommend some modifications on items. The beer selection is vast, and my husband always enjoys trying out a new brew. I am thrilled that Consume has several varieties of cbd/thc beverages available that are SO tasty, and that’s what I order for my beverage. The service is friendly and efficient, and the whole vibe is really fun, casual, and easygoing. They even have an attached room where you can purchase all kinds of different beverages to take home with you, and the owner even told me he’d be happy to order in a specific brand I was interested in. Consume is a hidden gem, and on our regular rotation of favorite restaurants nearby!

Really enjoyed our food here. I do think $20 for a smash burger is a bit steep, but it was a really good burger. I loved the Kentucky lemonade- perfect drink!

Never had a bad experience and we’ve been coming here for years. Outstanding selection of beer and whiskies. Friendly, attentive staff. Need a sample taste of a beer before ordering? No problem. Burger has always been good and my wife loves the meatless quinoa cakes – delicious!

Consume of Zurich is truly a hidden gem!
I moved to Lake Zurich six months ago and Consume is “bar none” my favorite place to be!
This unique little bottle shop & bar offers curated craft beer, wine & spirits. Additionally, Consume is a family friendly establishment serving a delicious select rotating menu which I describe as “Food with Flair!”
The owners & staff are all first rate providing exceptional service to all, combined with a welcoming personal touch!

We got the plantains and barbacoa appetizer which was good but our main meals lacked any flavor. We got the beef pot pie but only the crust had any flavor. We also got the chicken tinga tacos. These were the worst tacos we’ve ever had. Tasted like boiled chicken in a corn tortilla. Absolutely no flavor to it at all. Not even sure how they call it chicken tings. Atmosphere was fine and service was okay. If you just want a drink, then it should be fine.

This was my favorite place in lake zurich. Service and drinks are amazing and the food was amazing, but since their main chef is leaving and they hired gigis I probably won’t return. Gigis is crap and i’m so disappointed to see my favorite restaurant rebranding for barrington gimmick food

Had the smashed burger. Great tasting burger. I didn’t get the burger sauce but had blue cheese dressing. OMG the blue cheese dressing was delicious and made in house. The portions were nice and big.
Nice cocktail list and beers to choose from.
We went on a Sunday and they had a happy hour till 2pm, 20% off drinks and some finger foods.

Used to be one of our favorite places but the food has been hit or miss lately and sometimes by a lot. The Risotto and Quinoa Cakes was a favorite. The last time she ordered it she didn’t finish it and said it was salty, undercooked and misshapen. Went there with some friends about a month or so ago after telling them how good it was and I ordered a turkey leg that was nothing like the menu description and barely edible. I mentioned it to the server on our way out as I didn’t want to make a stink about it in front of everybody and she said had I mentioned it earlier she would have removed it from the bill. The rest of our party said their food was just OK. We really want to like this place as its small, local and independent. The service and beer selection is always very good
but the food has been an issue on our last two visits.
