We’re visiting Lackland AFB from the East Coast and ordered a plain pizza and some Caesar salads. The flavor was really good and hit the spot. Very cheesy and the sauce was just right. The dough reminded me of wood-fired style, just not over-baked like wood-fired can be. They cooked it perfectly. It was like back-east pizzeria meets wood-fired gourmet. The Texas Tea in the soda case was also some of the very best if not the best bottled iced tea I’ve ever had. I’m really glad we came. Service was also excellent and the food was prepared promptly.

I cannot say enough GOOD THINGS about Erin and the other employees so I’ll just go right to the pizza and the establishment. The place was fabulous. We had the sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, medium, and thin crust and it was cooked. Perfect. The place was clean, and easy to Take out if needed. I love some of the stuff that they have posted on the wall., I love this company and I love these people.
There’s choices for people that don’t really do gluten they have a cauliflower crust.

I really liked the pizza. I would have loved it if you had fresh mozzarella sliced to place on the top of pizza next to ricotta. I usually go to another place called Sofias pizzaria or PoPo Tratoria pizzaria which has the fresh mozzarella slices but I had heard about your place thru my oldest son. Im glad I tried it. Pizza looked great and my husband was happy with the flavor too

An error was made on my takeout order. I didn’t even notice it. The manager, Matt, did notice the mistake, called me to advise me and told me he was going to make it right. He had my whole order redone and personally delivered it to my house. What service! Even more important, what integrity! Oh, by the way, GREAT pizza too! Another delicious pizza spot to enjoy and close to home! So we had tried the pizza on a to-go basis only. This was our first time dining in, and it was really a good experience for us. We ended up trying a few smaller pizzas so we could pull from each one. We also got 6 garlic parm and 6 lemon pepper orders of wings. The wings are, in my opinion, very heavy flavored. So, you’re going to taste the spices on the wings. The pizza choices on the menu are simple and easy to order. They taste really great, and if you like them a little greasy like i do, then you’re in for a treat. The demand is high for these orders both dine in and take out, so just be prepared to possibly wait for your order. The staff was super chill and working behind the scenes. Employees were not on their phones or sitting around, which was nice to see. They were really pushing out the orders. They do offer a small dine in area in case you feel like enjoying a little down time inside. We had a great experience here at this location, and we’ll have to compare it to the other stores here soon. So come enjoy some great pizza, wings, and more, but be patient, and it’ll be worth it. See you guys again soon

Mattenga’s Pizzeria on Military Dr. near SeaWorld is hands down one of the best pizza spots near my house. It’s only about 3–4 miles away, and I usually just pick up my order with no issues.
Today I decided to try delivery instead. I placed my order at 4:45 pm and the estimated delivery time was 5:05 pm. No problem. The pizza was picked up around 5:00 pm, but by 5:15 pm it still hadn’t arrived. Then the app updated the delivery time to 5:30 pm. That’s 30 minutes to travel about 4 miles up the road.
I called the store and spoke with the manager, Matt, planning to cancel and request a refund. Instead of just refunding me, he apologized and offered two options: refund the order or remake the pizza fresh and personally deliver it himself. I was honestly surprised he even offered that.
I chose the fresh remake. A few minutes later, Matt showed up with a hot, fresh pizza.
That’s customer service. He went above and beyond to make it right, and that says a lot about how they run their business. I’ll recommend Mattenga 100 times over now.
Thank you again, Matt. That level of service doesn’t go unnoticed.

This place is so good! Will and Isaiah were professional and attentive to us. The pizza was very tasty. Didn’t know they had wings so we gave it try and definitely the best wings I’ve had. It was flavorful! Great 1st experience. Matt the manager is friendly and also came to check on us and make sure everything was good. Thanks so much! We will be coming back here again.

Came in right when it opened on 11/20/25 to get some lunch and it is delicious. I got their lunch special and an order of pizza rolls. Totally would come back with friends. Already ate one of the pizza rolls and I am well pleased.
