If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would. When traveling, I don’t like to eat at the same place twice. I did here and I wish I could have gone more. The first night we ordered chicken feet, duck tongue both ways, seafood fried rice and clams in lemongrass. It was all so amazing. The lemongrass broth with clams was so light but yet flavorful. The duck tongue in the pot was delightful and the sauce was very complex. All dishes came out when they were ready, meaning nothing sat around. The second night we ordered boiled chicken feet (which came with an incredible onion salad on top), sautéed water spinach with garlic (I ate the entire dish without shame), fried rice with beef and pickled lettuce (crunchy and delightful), pork liver (which was hands down the table favorite, the flavor was mild but smooth too), two oysters (they were HUGE and a delicate flavor, not too harsh) and pork hocks (crispy on the outside and juicy in the middle).
This place is for the food adventurous and the food timid. There is something for everyone here with their vast menu. There’s fish, frog, chicken, beef, eel, 4 pages of vegetables, hot pot, crab, snails… the list goes on. All dishes are freshly prepared. Service is quick. Place is full of locals having fun and just a cool/fun vibe.

Forget the current rating of under 4 stars. If you’re anywhere near this place, or are willing to pay the $2 for a Grab, run don’t walk to this gem of HCMC.

The first time I tried Banh Nam La Chuoi was at a restaurant in Houston as well as other rice cake dishes, so when I found this restaurant while visiting OC I was excited to try it!! So good. The Vy Da combo was perfect for getting a bit of everything. Banh Canh Tom Cua was flavorful and had real crab in it, best one I’ve had in a restaurant I would say

Love this place! The Bun Bo Hue is rich, flavorful and extremely fresh. I also really like how its not spicy to start and you can spice it up to the level you want it to be with their in house chili sauce. Don’t miss out on the specialty dishes too. I always get the combo if I’m not sure what to get but my favorites are the Beo and It Ram.

Also, if you want more of a seafood based soups, you have to try the Banh Canh Tom Cua and Bun Rieu. I personally like the BCTC more but the Chu’s and Co’s always fight over which is better.

A traditional Vietnamese place. The star is Bún Bò Huế, the salty rich broth go together with pork feet, tender and beef is unresistable.
But in my opinion the pork blood cube is not good, too dry
The place is clean, have all the necessary spice to eat.
The lotus seed che is ok, the lotus seed is a bit hard, a little bit too sweet

What a phenomenal experience! So glad our friend told us about this place because we will be back! Amazing service, and delicious food! Central style Viet food with such unique dishes but also familiar dishes too!

This place was packed with Vietnamese speaking diners so I think it must be pretty authentic.

The menu is in Vietnamese & English, and I did my homework beforehand, and let me tell you research pays off! Every single dish I ordered was fantastic.

2️⃣ Bún Riêu – $13.5
Vermicelli noodle soup with tomato, ground crab, pork blood, and tofu (+$2 for added snails)
This crab noodle soup was a pleasant surprise. The broth wasn’t as heavy as I expected but still packed with flavor. It came with thin vermicelli noodles, crab paste, tomatoes, pork blood, tofu, and eggs. I also opted to add snails for an extra $2—totally worth it!

1️⃣7️⃣ Bánh Bèo Chến Vỹ Dạ – $13.5
Vy Da’s Steamed Rice Cakes with Ground Shrimp
This dish came with 12 small plates, each holding a soft, chewy rice cake topped with crispy fried garlic and dried shrimp. The magic happens when you drizzle their house-made fish sauce over it—absolutely delicious! (And no funky fish sauce smell, just pure umami goodness!) Plus, it came with a side of crispy fried pork skin.

2️⃣0️⃣ Bánh Ít Ram – $13.5
Fried & Steamed Dumplings with Shrimp & Pork
This one was mind-blowing! It’s a two-layered delight—the top is a chewy glutinous rice dumpling, while the bottom is a crispy fried base filled with crunchy shrimp and pork. Once you drizzle it with their sauce, it becomes the perfect combo of crispy, chewy, and savory. A must-order!

Thai Tea – $4
Surprisingly, this was the best Thai tea I’ve had at any Thai or Vietnamese restaurants in the area! Perfectly balanced and not too sweet.

Bonus: Free Herb & Lettuce Platter
They serve a complimentary plate of fresh greens with the meal—love the authentic touch!

There are still so many dishes I want to try here, but I was way too full this time. One thing’s for sure is that Vietnamese food is so much more than just pho! Can’t wait to come back for round two.

Never know that duck and bamboo shot can go together very well, I have a duck noodle with side salad it’s taste very nice, the soup, meat and ginger sauce is a perfect match. Imagine you dip the soft tender juicy duck meat inside a ginger sauce that usually makes for hainan chicken rice. It is easy to find this location and also can come by bus too as it’s located right next to OC Bus stop.
