Really good food. The owner of the place seated me & served. She was very nice. We got to talk a bit about her restaurant. She said it has been there 20 years right across from the Bartlet Metra station. I will be returning. I had a Buritto Suiza dinner. Next time I will try the Fajitas!

I recently dined at JC’s Mexican Restaurant for the first time, and it exceeded every expectation. We sat on the patio, which was comfortable and welcoming, and the hospitality was just as warm. We had the pleasure of meeting Luz, one of the owners, whose passion for quality is evident in everything she does. She explained that if the food isn’t good enough for her own family, it’s not good enough for her customers and that philosophy truly shines through in how fresh the food is. It’s so rare to find restaurant owners like this.
I ordered the steak fajitas, and they were nothing short of outstanding.The rice was a standout on its own as well fluffy, flavorful, and far from the typical afterthought you find at most restaurants. THE guacamole!!! Absolutely exceptional. Fresh, creamy, and made with the highest quality avocados made daily.
What impressed me most, though, was not just the food, but the care behind it. JC’s is clearly a place built on pride, love, and attention to detail. In a time when so many restaurants cut corners, it’s refreshing to find owners who are so committed to serving only the best. I left not only satisfied, but genuinely excited to return.

We had a wonderful meal here with family. The margaritas and food were fresh, not greasy and refreshing! I highly recommend getting the elote side as an appetizer. It was plently for 4 people to share.

Amazing food. Very authentic and high quality ingredients. The outdoor seating during the summer is so great, especially while sipping on one of the many delicious margarita flavors they serve. Very friendly staff. Just has that small, family run restaurant vibe.
If you’re brave, try the salsa diabla but fair warning… there’s a reason it says “no-refunds” next to the name on the menu.

First in foremost the guac was really good and also the skirt steak, the rice taste plain and you literally get a pinch of rice.. steak was VERY THIN but Shrimp was good.. you do not get your moneys worth, I paid $28 for my entree and it was not a good portion for what I paid, gave me a pinch of every thing and I see other people photos so this is normal for them.. my boyfriend order this chicken stuff with green sauce on it… very nasty, I do not recommend.. my baby had a cheese burger and the cheese flavor made me want to throw up.. ew, use regular American cheese, pepper jack or Swiss or something, not that nasty stuff y’all use.. Service was good, they were nice but those meals were way too much for way to little of a portion.. like dude, y’all jumbo burrito is regular size, why call it jumbo if it’s regular? They are over priced here for everything and I won’t be back. We came out to see if we’d like but nope.. not happy. O drinks didn’t have alcohol but good flavor, just didn’t taste the alcohol I paid for.. Wings were good but the sauce, idk what sauce on the side was but EW

Service is terrible, took forever, they forgot to give us straws for the 4oz mini margaritas that are way overpriced, nachos served on a small dinner plate, they couldn’t remember who ordered the nachos, i would not recommend this place. Music was ok, the atmosphere was ok because it was outside, however i would not come back. Took a while to get our check. $50 for two tiny margaritas and really bad tasting mojito with ok nachos. There’s nothing good i can say about this place

Came to JCs for dinner last Saturday night and loved it. Restaurant has a cozy feel, almost like being in someone’s home. We were seated right away. Server brought us chips and salsa. Drinks were great and the food even better. The al pastor tacos and the torta were all outstanding. I’ve been to many great Mexican restaurants in the city and JCs is right there with them.

We’ve been to this restaurant several times, and unfortunately the service kept getting worse with each visit. On our last visit, we didn’t even get water or food for 20 minutes. After that time, they only brought some chips, the waitress took our order, and then started chatting with her friends. Their order was served within a minute, while we were still waiting — without even water.
The food was usually okay, but the terrible service completely ruins the experience. It’s a shame, because the place had potential, but now it’s just a big disappointment.
