What an incredible restaurant! We can’t believe they’ve been open 3 years and we’re just now discovering it. Had the yuca Frita (perfectly cooked/crispy), tostones (incredibly packed tostadas on a smashed plantain), ceviche (also beautiful and fresh) and the gelato dessert empanadas which was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had in Phoenix! The owner even stopped by our table and was genuinely lovely.

Que Sazón is one of those places you’re so glad you stumbled upon. The patio atmosphere in the evening is lively and fun, with great music and an energy that makes you want to stay awhile. The inside, however, feels a bit stark and is missing the heart and soul that really captures the vibrant vibes of any country in South America – it doesn’t quite match the warmth and culture you’d expect. That said, the patio more than makes up for it.

Service was excellent- our server was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful with recommendations, checking in on us just the right amount.

The food did not disappoint. We ordered one of every empanada, and every single one was delicious. The Peruvian ceviche was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.

Sitting outside on the patio in the evening, great music playing, delicious food on the table, and top-notch service- what more could you ask for? We’ll definitely be back

Man I hate im late getting to this review but let me tell you this place does NOT disappoint. Came across this place just by chance. It is in a closed off street by the asu phx campus. Its a very cute establishment with indoor and outdoor seating. We choose to sit inside because it looked like rain. This is a family business so I was excited. Everything was decently priced and portionally adequate. Started off with some empanadas they have 3 different variations and what I like about places like this. They know how to flip alot of the same ingredients that dont taste the same in different applications. We went with the chicken empanada 1st and it was amazing along with some fries just to get a feel for the menu. After those it was no stopping me I had to try to the tacos. Ive never had spicey shredded pork tacos like this anywhere in the valley, I mean it literally melted in my mouth. the lettuce was so fresh and mellow and did nothing but compliment the avocado aioli. It was supposed to just be a lunch stop but i had to order some Togo for later. The drinks were also amazing and well priced. I loved the staff, the food and the atmosphere. I dont normally give perfect score but if any place deserved it. Its Que Sazon.

My wife and I had an incredible experience at Qué Sazón! They were recently recognized as one of the 100 Essential Metro Phoenix Restaurants for 2025 by azcentral.com and The Arizona Republic—and after eating there, we completely understand why.

We sampled a variety of dishes, including:

Maduros (sweet plantains)

Empanadas de pollo and empanadas pabellón (pork)

Tiradito Qué Sazón Clásico — a stunning ceviche made with grouper in sashimi-style slices, infused with leche de tigre, coconut milk, and mango salsa with a touch of heat

Burrito de pollo with mango and avocado

We also enjoyed several memorable drinks: a Cadillac margarita, the refreshing house mojito, and a pour of Aguardiente Amarillo de Manzanares.

Every single dish was fantastic—remarkably so for a quiet Wednesday afternoon visit. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owners, Fabian and Julie, who were incredibly kind and shared a bit about the history and heart behind their restaurant.

We’ll absolutely be back soon—especially for their Friday night live music!

My daughter and I accidentally found this place and I am so glad we did! The food was so good! We tried a few different things and loved all of them! The tacos were delicious! I can honestly say I haven’t been so impressed with a restaurant meal in a very long time! Wish we didn’t live an hour away!

This place is a home run! My wife and I were in town for the evening and wanted a chill environment so we checked this place out. Great service from the start, as we were greeted by the owner. Atmosphere is perfect, if you are looking for a nice outside vibe or inside for an equally chill vibe. Food quality was superb for the price that you are paying, especially considering the style of foods. Would highly recommend if you considering some new!

I rarely write reviews but I just have to say, we are Arizona natives that moved to Germany while my husband was stationed there. We moved back and have been CRAVING an atmosphere and staff that reminded us so much of the European way of eating lunch/ dinner. Specifically, we have 2 young kids. Our culture shock moving back home was how disgusting America & Arizona restaurants treat children now. This staff were incredible to them, accommodating, and just wonderful. We sat outside while the weather was so nice and multiple staff members came to say hi, check on them, talk to them, etc,. The food was delicious! But if you have kids and are struggling to find an accepting place that treats your children with respect as well, then I highly recommend. The only small complaint is that I don’t think we saw a kids menu but our kids just pick at what we eat so it wasn’t an issue. But it’s also a great place to order a variety and have your kids try new things. If you want a restaurant that very obviously creates a sense of community, this is it!

I’m in Phoenix for a conference and wanted to eat at some local places, and I’m so glad that I picked Que Sazon. The service was very good and the food was amazing! It was so colorful and delicious, and the Paloma was exquisite.

Great patio. Great food. The corn ribs were especially good. The patio was nice w heaters if needed. The service was attentive but at the same time…curt. Quick to come to your table, quick w bringing out the food…but if you werent immediately ready w your order or had questions, server seemed impatient to leave. I wasnt the only one in our group to notice. Did not ruin the experience but definitely a kept it from being an all positive experience, so minus a star for that.
