I’ve been to Zaytoon multiple times and the experience is always wonderful! The platters, gyros, and everything else are always very flavorful and have great portion sizes! The bolani and mantu are amazing appetizers that are a must-try! I always order the qaimaq tea as well, which has become my favorite! The service is always wonderful, with the friendly staff and the food being prepared quickly every time. I also love the atmosphere because it is beautifully decorated with pictures of Afghanistan.

Food tastes good. Great service. Easy to order. They do table service for dine-in. We tried Chicken & Lamb Over Rice and the rice is well cooked. Chicken & Lamb also well cooked.
Trues both white & red sauce which tastes good. Salad was cold but tasted nice. Flat bread came in small pieces. All meat served halal.

Max 105 people can occupy this place as they mentioned on board inside the restaurant. Customers were keep coming.

Plenty of free parking. Wheelchair accessible parking available.

Was in the area and had heard from a friend that their food was very good, so I had to give it a try. The restaurant is open and very tidy. The staff was warm and helpful as we navigated the menu, which was the first time we ever tried Afghan food. Let me say everything was amazing. The chicken kabobs were terrific, but the beef was absolutely delicious. The rice was flavorful, and they provided generous portions. The bread was very different from what I had anticipated but in a great way. Very much recommended.

We had a wonderful experience at Zaytoon. We started with the borani, which was delicious, crispy on the outside, warm and full of potatoes inside.

I ordered the falafel wrap, and it was very balanced and satisfying. The wrap was nicely filled with no empty space, and the falafels were excellent, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

My husband had the mixed kebab and really enjoyed it as well. The sauces were great, especially the hot one.

I tried the qaimaq tea, which was spiced and very flavorful. For dessert, we had the milk pudding, which was excellent. It had a lovely flavor, I think there was cardamom in it, similar to the qaimaq tea we had at the end. The tea was spiced and very flavorful. If you haven’t tried their baklava yet, you definitely should.

As someone who rarely eats out, I truly enjoyed everything we had.

Great restaurant! I will definitely be back. Staff were very pleasant, portions are very generous and reasonably priced. We waited less than 10 minutes for our food to arrive.
Plenty of parking in the parking lot. Wheelchair accessible. Table and booth sitting.

While I know that Afghanistan is not in the middle east, this is the best “middle eastern” food in the area by far. You would have to drive 45 mins or more to get something of this quality. Not only that, but because it is Afghani food, you will find items on the menu that you’d have to go to a big city like New York or Philadelphia to get elsewhere.

All in all, this restaurant serves food that is one of a kind for the Reading area and it is worth a visit or twenty.

Amazing place to eat. We are lucky to have an Authentic Afghan restaurant in Berks County of this caliber. I’m a regular. Food, atmosphere and service is top notch. Today I stopped by myself and ordered a mix kabob platter with rice. Platter had a chicken kabob and a beef kabob along with rice with carrots and raisins , salad, sauces on the side, Afghani bread. They even threw in 2 dates for me to break my fast for Ramadan. To wash it down, I ordered a mint flavored yogurt drink. Probably going to order a cup of pink chai as well, which I love!

Great portion sizes and very friendly staff. I love the color scheme too of the place. The basmati rice was too die for. My steak kabob was mostly on the rare side which is why i reduced one star. Def recommend this place.

Ok, listen up, folks, y’all seriously need to try this place! I’m a little bit of a daring foodie that likes to try new stuff, so I decided to be brave and have me a lamb gyro. I’ve had bad, smelly lamb before so hence the hesitation, but I’m here to tell you, this was the best meal I’ve eaten away from home in years! Hands down, best food. Perfect blend of spice and sauces, large helping, just incredible! Also got the hot chai which is different than I’ve ever had as well, and that also gets 5 stars! Quite tasty!
