Wanderlust
Just a little ways off I81, we found this nice little eatery. On a Sunday afternoon, it wasn’t too busy. There’s a small lot across the road we could park our truck, it’s $15 if you wanna stay the night. We dined in 1 of the 5 very large and spacious booths (which is a plus), in the front of the building. Sweet tea and raspberry tea were very good. Food was great, 10 wings with a “wimpy” sauce turned out to be a little more spicy than I thought (nose running and face sweating, but not eye watering spicy for me). Celery does not come with it, you pay extra for that (which is a minus). Bathrooms were clean. Waitress friendly, attentive and down-to-earth. Loved the decor, 80’s easy listening music and overall ambiance. Cash only (a minus), but there’s an ATM. ATV parking on left side, ATV trail in rear for permit holders. Hours right now are only Fri-Sun, 11am-7pm. 2 handicapped parking spaces in front. If I were to suggest anything, it would be to include some “wet naps” with the wings. Time waiting for our cheesesteak, fries and wings was not long at all. Prices seem a tad pricey. Would return if ever in the area again.

Things have changed since I’ve been here Last, Wish I Was Here to enjoy a California Burger while they were open but maybe next time.
Edit, just for clarification, I was here on a Tuesday and apparently they are closed on Mondays Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Also I called the number to pay for semi truck parking and was left with a voicemail where it said “If you hear this voice mail greeting, congratulations you do not have to pay for parking today.”. Very interesting.

I was lucky enough to stumble onto this nice, quaint establishment. While looking for a place to park the tractor trailer, and craving some real food, not trucker feed! Ha. Crabcakes were off the charts awesome, and the rest of my food was served perfect and tasty. Price isn’t bad, truck parking cost is average, but the environment, directly surrounding the pub and property was beautiful and relaxing. I slept like a baby that night after a nice stroll with my dog, through the beautiful surrounding landscape.

Cheesesteak was good! Meat was tender marinara was out if this world! Bread very good! The French onion soup was gross. Sorry but it was basically onion water with salad croutons and mozzarella. No taste. You couldn’t even chew the cheese. Note to restaurant: try some smoked Gouda, and put homemade croutons on top., use a beef broth base. I promise it will be a best seller

It’s ok if you’re in the area. Despite the name, it’s not really a BBQ restaurant. There are a few BBQ items on the menu, but they were mediocre at best. We did enjoy the kids meals which were less than $5 and included icecream. Overall the wings were good- extra crispy just like I like, but the peppercorn parmesan sauce was a bit mayonnaise-y. The bar had really cool decor, but since we came with kids, we couldn’t go in, and the dining area didn’t have the cool decor.

Stopped here to try to get some authentic BBQ/American down-home cooking on the road instead of going to a boring chain, and I really wanted to give it a try but they were sold out of most of the appealing things on the menu and the space was not clean. I ended up leaving and going to Cracker Barrel.

Clean. Quiet. Relaxed. The server was very friendly. The food was great (large portions) and prices were surprisingly reasonable. Before we had even finished eating we had decided this would be our place any time we are in the area.

I parked here last week. Minus a driver that parked in front of everyone, blocking most from being able to pull out, it was peaceful. The diner, I ordered the Steamed Seafood plate. The scallops were pretty good, the shrimp also. Crab cake tastes good, just a little too mushy. The fish was bland, no flavor. I had broccoli and tater salad for sides. Broccoli was just right, tater salad…well I am use to having mustard in mine, this didn’t have any. Cell service here was disappointing, they also wouldn’t allow you access to their WIFI, which was fine with me. Waitress was new and cordial. Bar side was pretty busy, resturant side was dead… If I am thru here again, I will have to try the “pork” side of the menu…

I stopped here during a crazy fog storm on 81. The place is very welcoming atmosphere and the bartender was very kind. They have a really cool pool table and ping pong table.
