Guanatos 2 Mexican is the kind of spot you almost don’t want to review… because once everyone figures it out, you’re going to have to wait for a table.
This place was amazing. Period.
The fish tacos and shrimp tacos were absolute studs. Fresh, perfectly seasoned, loaded with flavor, and zero filler. Just straight up legit tacos. And the value? Wild. You leave full, happy, and wondering how it didn’t cost twice as much.
The shrimp ceviche tostada was a knockout. Bright, citrusy, piled high, and dangerously easy to demolish. “We’ll share it,” we said. Sure we did.
And big shout out to Juan, our server, who was phenomenal. Friendly, attentive, on top of everything without hovering. The kind of service that makes the whole experience even better.
Guanatos 2 is authentic, affordable, and flat out delicious. No gimmicks. Just great food and great people. We’ll absolutely be back.

This place is one of those hidden gems you always hear about; you’d probably miss it driving by if not for the swordfish image outside. I had the Michellada, the La Special, and a regular bean and cheese burrito and I was blown away at how fresh and delicious it was! The tortilla for my burrito was definitely made from scratch. I haven’t had Mexican food this good in the states in A WHILE. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!!

This is hands down one of the best places in La Mesa! The food is absolutely fantastic, and the family that owns the place are some of the most kind hearted people I have ever met! They will go out of their way to make you feel at home. Their patio is perfect for small gatherings or events. Definitely a gem!

Great hidden jewel, the food is phenomenal, and the service is 5 starts. Great little location, the seafood taste fresh. They need to have a bit better selection of mix drinks but other than that……amazing. Hopes this helps when making a decision .
