It’s interesting to me that Panda House gets a 3.8 star rating, yet if you look at the “Local Guide” reviews they are, with a few exceptions, 5 star reviews. I ordered sweet and sour chicken from Panda House while in Knoxville on business. The sweet and sour pork was almost spilling out of the container, was crisp, and had nice chunks of pork in it. The rice was well cooked, sticky and there was plenty of it. It was pressed into the container. The sweet and sour sauce container was large and the sauce was very good. The two spring rolls were as I expected. There were napkins and plenty of orange and teriyaki sauce sachets in the bag too along with a plastic fork. Overall, the meal was delicious and the portion large. I think the 3.8 stars misrepresents the quality of the food and service, certainly recently, at Panda House.

This is a great place to get a meal at any time but I am recovering from surgery and the staff was so helpful and polite. I’m on a knee scooter and they went out of their way to make sure I was taken good care of. They also gave me my new dashboard friend that I haven’t named yet.

The worst Chinese food I ever had vegetables was not cooked all the way the meat was so chewy and have no taste to it. The Fried rice that they charge me two dollars more taste old don’t wast your money here

The only thing poor about this restaurant is its Google review average of 3.6. The food was fresh. Storefront was clean and kitchen immaculate. Grubhub and DoorDash are frequent visitors; those platforms host Panda House as 4.7+. The only time I’ve seen Panda House in the news is when it scored a perfect 100 from the county health department inspection. There’s another store down the street that recently scored a 68 yet that restaurant yet its google ratings are 4+. So, doesn’t make sense. Panda House taste and feels like your neighborhood Chinese joint. The Google review of 3-something is too low for this fine establishment. Middlebrook represent!

Typically I am not a negative reviewer as this place was my absolute go to for their healing chicken soup. We noticed pricing has increased which is understandable in operation of a business but when quantity bottoms out it’s not justified. We ordered two large soups that were just water flavor with chicken bits in them. The wings were greasy and inedible as well. Crab rangoons were filled with some sort of ooze. And we threw it away and commenced to having cereal for dinner! Needless to say we will not be returning!

I like the hot and sour soup. Heavy on the mushrooms and that’s always a good thing in my opinion. Not sure if there’s sugar or honey, but it has a sweetness to it. It’s pretty tasty.

The food was good and the service was pretty good; the young lady at the counter was very nice and helpful as this was my first time stopping by. But the restaurant needs a lot of work. It’s definitely not a place you’d want to dine in. They have supplies sitting out on wire shelving in the corner of the dining area. The egg rolls were good but small. The orange chicken was very different; I didn’t like it but my husband did.
