801 Southern Kitchen and Pancake House

Well, we have found another incredible restaurant. Kim our waitress, made a great suggestion for our lunch. We cannot wait to return and try the pancakes. They smelled and look amazing. There’s a unique Southern Charm to the employees and a very welcoming environment for anyone passing by this way. We strongly recommend having breakfast or lunch at this restaurant. They are open 7 days a week, until 3:00 p.m.

I’d categorize 801 Southern Kitchen as my “local” breakfast spot even though it’s not conveniently nearby. But for a good breakfast, it can’t be beat. Let’s just start with the “if you order two eggs you can get the third for free” deal. You can’t beat that.
Then everything is always consistent and delicious. Never a complaint.
Service is friendly and prompt. Someone is always checking on you.
Plenty of seating. Never a wait.

We were in the area and decided to stop in for breakfast. Easy to get to, as it is really close to 421. The place feels down to earth and cozy. We got seated immediately. Heidi, our server, was very friendly and helpful! My daughter ordered a waffle and I had eggs (over medium), bacon, hashbrowns and wheat toast with coffee. When she brought our food out, it looked delicious. My daughter loved her waffle. She said it was very warm. My food was barely warm. At least the bacon was crispy! The only thing that was hot was my second cup of coffee! It took a while to get the coffee, so I’m sssuming they had to make a fresh pot of coffee. Would we come back and give it another try? Probably.

GREAT FOOD!! The fried chicken sandwich my son ordered was HUGE and DE-LI-CIOUS!!! It’s better than any fast food chain, hands down!! My Moms salad looked great!! She said it was delicious as well! Both of my daughters and I ate everything in our plates!! They had breakfast, while the rest of us had lunch. I enjoyed my country fried steak & gravy, collards, and fried okra!! Did I mention it was delicious!! We definitely will be back!! Keep doing what you’re doing 801 Southern Kitchen!!

801 is likely my favorite place for breakfast in the Winston-Salem area. The food is consistently good, the staff is nice, and the restaurant is clean. That’s why this place is popular, and so during peak periods the parking situation here can be a problem (even though the restaurant itself can seat quite a few people).

Good portion sizes. Got the Cinnamon Roll pancakes. I’d like more icing not a lot more. You don’t really need the maple syrup but it was also delicious.

Four stars on the service because hostess and greeters were less than southern if you catch my drift. Server was great

This is the best food and service we’ve had in forever! I got the 2 eggs over easy with fried tenderloin and home fries. My hubby got the chicken Philly sandwich with fries.
