I arrived here today for a DoorDash ordered , was never greeted at the door was at least 6mins before I was greeted , had already seated myself . Order was supposed to be ready within 5mins according to DoorDash . I was told be server it will be a while . I said okay waited a total of 32 mins for two sandwhiches and a salad , also had other customers waiting on single meal orders 30+ mins plus customers coming in not greeted or seated . So I approach the kitchen door to ask how much longer , manager comes out doors asking what’s the name of order , says he’s bagging it but clearly wasn’t . When he comes back I ask him if he was manager , he replies yes I explain how I had been waiting 30 plus minutes and he rudely cut me off said there was a fire in the kitchen and he was too busy trynna save the building but here’s your order , I told him this is a customers order and that’s unacceptable , I watch the server serve a table of twelve people , two plates at a time at that mind you, there were multiple other customers in restaurant at least 4 other who never received service . Seems like the waiter was more interest in the tip then other orders unprofessional . Should be the same level of professionalism given to every order. If your on time frame this not the place to go . I would not recommend .
Food – great. 5 stars
Atmosphere and service – pretty good, arguably 5 stars.
Pricing – 2 stars.
The meals on the menu were priced and in line with what’d I’d expect, most meals in the $16-18 range. The drinks were unpriced. I had two Irish beers (a Killian and a Guinness). I guessed they’d be ~$8 each, which should have put my average meal in the zone of $16+8+8, so about $32, plus a tax, and maybe a little more on the drinks, so $40ish on the high end.
At the end of the meal, the waitress came to our group of five with an electronic card reader, asked us what we ordered, then read us each a price to pay. It was awkward, both because there was no itemized bill to ensure correctness, and my bill was nearly $60. Due to the social pressures of the group, I handed my card over to pay, even though I was surprised by the price.
The server then handed me the card reader machine, to pick between 0%,3%,5%, or 7% tip.
I normally tip at 20%, so the options were odd to me. My instinctive thought was that they might pay their servers a living wage, so tipping was unnecessary. Even so, I opted for the 7% tip, and would have done 20% of it was an option.
After leaving, I found out from an acquaintance of a server that they had added a 20% gratuity.
Why do they get 2 stars on pricing? Seemingly intentional price hiding. I ended up paying 7% tip on top of a bill that had a 20% tip built in, so ~30% tip without knowing it.
Great food, nice people. I do not plan to dine there again.
