5/5 I can see why this place has 5 star reviews across the board. Ghulam (the owner) is extremely hospitable and super friendly! Hearing his story and seeing his passion for cooking Afghan food is truly an amazing experiance.
The grape leaves were amazing and fresh. With every bite you can taste the care that was put into making it. The steak and the chicken kebabs were juicy, full of flavor, and delicious.
Thank you Ghulam for the warm hospitality. We will definitely see you again!!!!

My family LOVED this homey place!!!! We came cause we saw the amazing reviews and wanted to try. We were not disappointed. The food is best described as homestyle cooking. We ordered the Pear Salad, Mazar Kebab, Lamb Shank, and Qorma (I forget what it’s called but it had lamb in it). This might be weird to say at a kabab place but the rice and salad were super fresh and we loved it so much. The lamb shank was tasty and massive and fell off the bone Also I didn’t get a pic of it but the BREAD!!!! was so fresh and chefs kiss! everything here was so immaculately fresh
Also the family that runs this place is so nice and sweet! They came to the US around a year ago and the owner was incredibly nice and hospitable. He offered us tea and rice pudding on the house! I learned that the food is Northern Afghan which has Central Asian influence. Another thing I found interesting is that they own the places where they manufacture some of their staple ingredients like rice and flour. So since they basically own the supply chain I imagine that must be why the rice and bread is so standout
I definitely recommend this place for unique homestyle regional Afghan cuisine. Whenever we come back to NJ we are already talking about making plans to stop by again ☺️

I have to start with the ambiance. The moment I walked in, I felt like I had stepped into my own home. Like my cousin was in the kitchen cooking it up Warm, welcoming, and instantly comforting.
The service was spectacular. Our server is the owner’s daughter, and the owner himself is also the cook. Let’s talk about dedication. She explained the menu so thoroughly and with so much care, you could tell this wasn’t just a job. This was family, pride, and purpose all wrapped into one.
I ordered the mixed lamb and chicken over rice, which also came with a fresh salad on the plate. My taste buds entered a full-on PARTAY. Exquisite. Delicious. YUM. Everything was seasoned perfectly and cooked with intention.
Now let’s talk about the juices. Their natural juices are freshly squeezed with nothing extra added. We ordered the carrot juice and apple juice, and all I can say is… I don’t know what heavenly place those carrots and apples came from, but WOW. No artificial juice could ever compare. Super delicious and naturally sweet.
They also offer complimentary hot green tea with the meals, which I think is such a thoughtful touch. Not only is it generous, but it truly helps with digestion.
And then there was the complimentary sweet rice. I might be a little biased because I’m Peruvian and I love arroz con leche… but THIS one absolutely incredible.
The owner even took the time to sit down and speak with us. This father and daughter duo shared that their hidden gem in the middle of Manville is only 8 months old. We got to hear a bit of their family’s journey from Afghanistan to New Jersey, which made the experience even more meaningful.
I personally love a family business that treats you like family. In such a short amount of time, their hard work, integrity, and dedication have accomplished so much, and it is truly inspirational. They are considerate, intentional, and every single person who walks through that door is treated like the valuable human they are.
The integrity of their hearts is almost palpable. This is a family that puts genuine heart into what they do.
I would recommend this family business 1,000%. If you are looking for something different than what you’re used to, or simply food of high quality made with love, look no further than Mazar Kabab. I promise you will not regret it.

First time trying Afghan food and it was such an incredible experience! The owner is always there, and you can tell he’s a genuinely kind person with a real passion for what he does. **No Sauce Necessary**
I recently ordered the family kabab platter from **Mazar Kabab**, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. Every item was remarkably flavorful and delicious—truly no sauce was necessary.
The Shepherd Salad was outstanding: fresh, perfectly balanced, and so tender it practically melted in my mouth. I could have easily eaten the entire container on my own. The portions across the meal were very generous.
The chicken cube kabab was tender and moist, cooked to perfection. The Kabuli Pulao was so good that I genuinely could not stop eating it. I am allergic to carrots, yet the rice was so flavorful that I ate around them without hesitation. The bread arrived warm and soft, and the meat throughout the platter was consistently tender and well-seasoned.
The customer service was equally impressive. Everything was thoughtfully packaged, and they provided paper plates, utensils, and napkins, which was greatly appreciated.
To finish the meal, the rice pudding was made perfectly—just sweet enough and incredibly smooth. I can honestly say I have never had better.
Although I requested extra white sauce, I ultimately did not use any sauces at all—the food truly spoke for itself. Without question, this was the best dining experience in Manville, hands down.

Casual Afghani restaurant with excellent food and great service. We had the lamb kebab, lamb sheekh kebab and falafel. All were excellent. We requested the lamb be well done and it was addressed with a smile. The complimentary rice pudding was very good. Plan to visit again soon.

The whole family puts their heart and soul into service, delicious quality food and customer experience. If you’re a foodie you’re going to love this place. We’re already planning our next choices for our next visit. Because it’s on Main Street the restaurant blends in to the scenery but definitely make this place a destination.

I was delighted upon first entering the restaurant. It is decorated beautifully with large posters on the wall highlighting places and customs of Afghanistan. The owners daughter Husnah waited on us and was a sheer delight. The food was delicious and fresh with good sized portions. We sampled their native Zaffron tea (saffron) which was light and delicious as well as having alot of health benefits. The owner treated us to a delicious homemade rice pudding for dessert. Their yogurt was so fresh and is made from a starter from their home country of Afghanistan. Their delicious and beautiful pear salad was thoroughly enjoyed by myself and husband! We got the eggplant and lamb shank and was ample to share. Overall it was a very fresh and delightful meal! We will most definitely come back!!

Every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared — the Kabli Palau was fragrant and rich, the Chicken Korma tender and savory, and the Chicken Tikka perfectly grilled with just the right spices. The Lamb and Shami Kabab were juicy and full of authentic Afghan flavor.
