Great spot in Birmingham to get some Chinese.
Good portions and great service.
Con – the taste of the food isn’t consistent. Some days it’s really good some days it’s just okay.

I have eaten there multiple times. I have ordered over 30 items and they all have been exceptionally authentic, delicious and a generous amount for the price. The staff has always been extremely helpful I love to go there.

My husband and I stopped by for lunch. This was the first time visiting. I ordered Mongolian Beef and he ordered Honey Chicken plus a to-go order. Both were delicious. We ordered the dinner portion and had to get go boxes. Staff was very nice and attentive. Will definitely go back.

Best and most authentic Chinese cuisine in town! My favorite is the Seafood Hot Sour Soup, fresh, tasty, which is their chefs recommendation! Also ordered Sichuan Spicy noodle soup and Chongqing Spicy Noodle. Both are really good and freshly cooked. The steam buns took 20 min, not microwaved. Waitress is friendly and welcome. We came late around 8:15, but still see customers coming. Good sign, well known local restaurant.

Been here a few times now, and it really is worth it. If you’re tired of the typical Chinese fast food menu, Mr Chen definitely offers dishes that aren’t in other Chinese restaurants. Serving portions aren’t that big but they are really tasty. Lots of parking spaces, calling in or ordering via app is good.

This is our first time to try the authentic Chinese food in Birmingham, AL. We are glad that we find this restaurant. We had the meal around 3:30 pm there. So we only see one active table ordering American Chinese food. We know that authentic Chinese food are provided here!! We ordered durian pie, braised pork rice and steamed bass.
1. Durian pie榴莲酥: very surprised to see this dessert. The pie is crispy with the durian flavor, although I would suggest that durian can be added more!!
2. Braised pork with rice红烧肉: this is Taiwanese style braised pork belly. I initially thought it was 卤肉饭,but it was 红烧肉. It is yummy, but I generally don’t prefer 红烧肉that much since it may make me feel greasy and full easily.
3. Steamed Bass: the price is reasonable with the fish being fresh. It is very tasty, although the sauce may be a bit heavy and salty for me.
Pros: Overall, I am glad to explore this restaurant at a non-peak time. Many specialty dishes are not easily found on Asian restaurants in Tennessee, such as spicy crawfish 麻辣小龙虾 and Dapan Chicken大盘鸡。
Cons: But I would suggest some renovation and more Chinese music to attract diverse customers if they want to promote their business. The price of the bubble tea is reasonable, but we didn’t try it this time. They provide a wide range of dishes, though it is hard to see what the specialties are. We also don’t get enough recommendation from the waiter, although he really cares about our demands during our meal.
I would try this again next time I pass by Birmingham!!

I ordered from Mr. Chin‘s this evening through DoorDash. I know I selected Mongolian beef, however, seconds after placing the order I saw that it said Mongolian chicken. My fiancé hate chicken so, within 60 seconds of placing the order I called the restaurant and asked them For the Mongolian beef instead of Mongolian chicken and they told me that they cannot honor that that they had already started cooking, which I have a hard time, believing knowing how DoorDash works. they refused to change it and made it very clear that they did not care about having our future business. So, we had to cancel the order and only refunded 5% of what we paid. it was a simple fix and we will never order from this restaurant ever again.
In essence, their customer service is horrifying, and you should never order from here. There are plenty of Chinese restaurants in the Hoover area that care about their customers..

Happy New Year! A festive first time here for us as we usher in the Year of the Rat. It was super busy but our server did a fantastic job. We shared a wonton soup for 2 but it could have served 3. I had Kung Pao beef and wifey had General Tso chicken. I expected my beef to be spicy but it was very tame so I added a few packets of Chinese mustard to perk up my palate. Both were very generous portions. The price was also a value for what we got. We will return.

Very disappointing. We ordered General Tso’s Chicken, Spicy Chicken Lo mein and egg rolls. The food was bland, cold and unappetizing. Despite being hungry we threw it out. $40 down the drain.

Great quality and exceptional value. I had the pork with black bean sauce and pot stickers, and it was the best Chinese meal I’ve had outside of Silicon Valley.
