I’m a big fan of Mexican food, absolutely love it. I was told that Calaveras Mexican Bar & grill was a place that would not disappoint. So I had to stop out and give it a try. The parking lot was nice a spacious, no issues with the parking. My seating options were tables, booths or bar stools, I chose a table. My server was very pleasant & friendly, got my drink & dinner order quick & correctly. The My food was out pretty quick, hot & was delicious. I also enjoyed the atmosphere, calm and relaxing. They had a large & proper bar. Lots of televisions, I know I would enjoy watching a sporting event here with a beverage from the bar. Overall I had a great dining experience, no complaints. I will definitely be dining here again soon.

Maybe I went on the wrong day. Looks like they have no staff. Person took order and then had to go cook order also. Restaurant was empty. No music of any kind playing in background. You can literally hear a dime drop. Had to go to kitchen to get any assistance, since the waiter was also the cook. Food was tasty overall

I just stopped in after being on the road all day. Got a simple grilled chicken quesadilla and was blown away. Outstanding food. Molly was my server and she was very friendly. I cant recommend this Mexican restaurant enough, fantastic all the way around!

We were looking for dinner close to the highway as we were heated east on 80. We rolled the dice and took a chance on Mexican food at Calveras. The restaurant was clean, The service was excellent and speedy. We were on our way quickly. The food was decent and didn’t cause any issues on the road. The prices are reasonable.

We stopped here on a whim and bc the parking lot is always full. We are so HAPPY that we did! Best Mexican food in Youngstown, hands down, no competition. I wish I took photos but we dug in as soon as the food hit the table!
We ordered the guacamole and queso as an appetizer. For dinner I had the chicken fajitas and he had the super burrito and he added nacho cheese on top. So good!

We used the back room at Calaveras Mexican restaurant for an after funeral get together. It was wonderful. The food and service and price was very good. I highly recommend them.

Been here only 3x’s always friendy, prompt, and delivers the best cuisine for the authenticity of his food. I am a food connoisseur and I can tell you first thing, they want to please their guests! If there’s anything that you need extra on the spicy side or any herbs they are there for you! They cater to the American part of our culture! However I am very cultured, I like my things with lots of herbs and lots of spices. But I have to tell you, this place is very calm, peaceful and it has whatever your Indulgence are if you love this type of culture food! I will always come back when I’m running errands and need a bite to eat!

Stopped by for lunch and was amazed at the price and quality. They have a variety of items on their menu, but you can get individual items as well. Not busy when we arrived so we were helped instantly. Very friendly staff. Will definitely want to come back again

Food is ok. We’ve been there a few times and it doesn’t seem to be as good as it was. The chille relleno was ok, one pepper was good, the other one was tough. They brought me a replacement pepper that was also tough. The flouta was good, but overdone.
