It’s a great little spot for quick bite. They have good burgers and fries. They also have hot dogs, chicken strips, chicken sandwiches, chili fries, chocolate dipped ice-cream and much more. My favorite item is the twister. I get the Resses cup one but they have many other flavors. My daughter loves their sundaes. It’s a little pricey but for me it’s worth it.

After chemotherapy, I asked my daughter to stop at Fosters Freeze for Ice Cream only since the registered nurse had already given me a Turkey sandwich for lunch. And, since my daughter hadn’t had lunch yet, she ordered a hamburger with fries to go even though inside and outside seating was available. By the time my daughter’s order was ready, I was almost done eating my delicious vanilla ice cream. As you will see in the photo, it’s closer to a medium rather than a small size. When my daughter got into the car with her order, she told me to dip the French fries in the ice cream, so I tried it and found that it didn’t taste bad. The fries were nice and hot and together we finished eating them before getting home. She enjoyed her burger very much. The person at the window at Fosters Freeze prepared the burger and fries very quickly. This Fosters Freeze in Pinole and the one in Berkeley are unfortunately the only ones left. There used to be one in San Pablo where I’d go to for lunch and afterward spent some time reading there. I knew the owner, who wanted to sell the business because she was planning to move to Canada. I was sad the place closed. Fosters Freeze ice cream is one of the best, which reminds me of the ice cream I enjoyed eating when my grandmother used to take me to Kuridis in Africa during our vacation.

Will not be returning here. I paid $21 after taxes for this meal 2 pieces of fish and tray of fries no drink. The prices do not match the quality of food.

This place had really good food and was friendly. I would visit here once a week with family as a nice treat.
They hired 2 new people and they’re rude and ignore customers.
I was in 3 weeks ago and felt ignored, standing there at their front counter without being contacted at all for 5+ minutes while people outside were helped. I was patient and waited, ordered, then they got my order wrong.
I gave them another chance today, stood there waiting as someone outside was helped. Then it was my turn to be helped and the woman at the counter completely ignored me, answered the phone and took the phone order in my face, then switched back to the window and helped someone who just walked up.
I expressed concern with attitude asking if I had to call or go outside to order and the woman stated “Ill be with you in a second” in a snarky attitude.
Never coming back. Not worth it.

I love peanut butter shakes. My mom used to work at foster freeze and there was nothing better then the peanut butter shake she made me. I always thought it was made out of love then I realized it was extra peanut butter!!!

Good ice cream, we were last call for everything as they were about to close. Food wasn’t great and they turn the lights off while we were still sitting at the tables outside eating so service was not great but definitely a good place for ice cream

Man-O-Man, who doesn’t love Fosters Freeze! I was out on San Pablo Reservoir doing some ultra sound for the Gobmint with Commander Binghamton USN…It seems they went and lost their Submersible while doing some top secret training…Wow!
We had wrapped things up after pinging the thing in about 40 feet of water, and this Navy-Nitwit says let’s go back to MOTC and file our reports.
I said look here bird brain, you can go wherever you want, but I’m going to Fosters Freeze and get a couple of chili dogs! And get this…he says why? So I slugged him in the shoulder, not hard but hard enough and told him “Because Fosters Freeze chili dogs are the best in the bay area” 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

Called to place a pick up order at 06:25pm. A young woman answered and said she could not take anymore phone orders as tonight they close at 06:40. She stated the online times on google are incorrect. When I asked for her name, she asked me why did I need her name. She eventually told it was Selina, but I’m not sure she was being honest. There are no times posted on the building, which means they can change the time they close without fear of retribution. This, at the very least, is unprofessional.

Wow, It’s been 20 years, since I stepped foot on to Fosters Freeze. This well respected fine dine in establishment, aged well like fine wine. Service is rapidly/ friendly. Food portions is enormous and prices are very reasonable. Any residents that live in West Contra Costa County towns. Come by and give this place a shot.
