I am going to crave the Brussels sprouts and the fries – perfectly crisp and so dang good! I have not had a fry I have truly enjoyed in a while. The olive burger was doing the most when it was totally not necessary. The meat was seasoned well & the bun was delicious… I just prefer a classic olive burger without all the “how can we make this special.” The chicken tenders were perfectly crisp! Filled a craving. Oh and the honey mustard & BBQ was delicious. Will definitely be back.

Juicy good burger. A bit too much salt.

– Classic Burger – $15: The 6oz burger patty was thick and very juicy with good seasoning, but too much salt. The lettuce, tomato, and white onion were fresh. The tomato was particularly thick, but taste and texture were still well within a good range. The extra cheddar cheese was amazing and just right! The garlic aioli was light and not as noticeable. The Detroit brioche bun was medium soft and held the sandwich together VERY well.

– Fries – $3 extra: The saltiest fries I’ve had in Grand Rapids and I’ve had a lot of them. Other than that, they were great. They were medium cut, cooked right, and otherwise seasoned well. They were also served plenty hot!

Overall, I do think the price for the burger and fries was higher than average and not justified compared to other restaurants of its caliber. It was good, but not $18 good.

– Service: I was helped fairly quickly and my burger arrived in a record 9 minutes (WOW)! The condiment tray was missing from my table and I had to ask for it so I had napkins, but this was fairly quickly remedied after I asked. She was very helpful and polite overall and was not at all intrusive.

– Atmosphere: The concrete floor seemed to dominate the atmosphere. There were 4-5 booths (not many compared to the rest of the seating arrangements), tables and chairs (regular and tall), tables and benches (no backs), bar seating, outdoor seating, and games including darts and at least one pool table. There were two types of chairs and they were randomized throughout the restaurant without much order. Noise carried somewhat, but not too bad. There was 70’s and 80’s music play at medium volume.

– Conclusion: It was good though salty and overpriced a bit.

Visited on a Saturday at 1pm.

Stopped in to try the beer and was very pleased with the variety and taste. Brown eyed girl was my favorite but the blueberry wheat was a close second. The cauliflower crust pizza was delicious and the side salad was ok (why stuff it in a small bowl so it falls out when you try to eat it?) We sat at the bar so service was good. Bingo started and was too loud forcing some customers to leave. I would like to try again.

Absolutely the best Michigan olive burger. I switched the Swiss for pepper jack and it was so good. Perfectly cooked to. The fries are amazing. The Cuban and pizza. Can’t go wrong here. Also call ahead for the brisket to make sure its done so you can try it.

We stopped in for some local food and a beverage before heading to the airport. It was a pleasant surprise! Neither of us are from the area so we stumbled across Thornapple Brewing Company and it was amazing! I had the Cherry Cider and a burger with fries. The fried pickle chips were perfect. It was a quiet Sunday afternoon so we had time to relax, eat, drink and easily made it to the airport before the flight. We opted to sit inside since we were outside all weekend but they had a nice patio area with umbrellas too! Great service and friendly staff.

Funny Things for now
I’m writing this as my boyfriend is driving us home from eating there. As much as I want to say that it was as good as I remember it being, it wasn’t. The pizza was undercooked and the bread sticks were honestly not the best. My boyfriend got a cherry coke (coke with grenadine) and it tasted like straight grenadine. Our server started off nice but as the night progressed she decided it was a good idea to flirt with my boyfriend and would only address him. I don’t know if this was accidental or purposeful, but either way it was unexceptable. Definitely not worth the $41 dollars.

Disappointing “Invisible” Experience at a Local Favorite: I’ve normally had great experiences at Thornapple Brewery, but today’s lunch visit was honestly baffling. My fiancée and I walked in around 1:45 PM and, following the “Seat Yourself” sign at the entrance, we found a table.
Despite there being fewer than 10-12 patrons in the entire building, we sat for over 30 minutes without a single person acknowledging us. Here’s why it was so frustrating:
Zero Acknowledgment: We didn’t even get a “be right with you” or a water drop-off.
Passed Over: We watched a waitress walk past our table twice, and noticed other parties who arrived after us getting greeted and served.
The “Empty Room” Factor: If they had been slammed, we would have understood. But at 2:00 PM on a quiet afternoon, it felt uncomfortable to be the only ones ignored.
By 2:20 PM, we decided to leave since we hadn’t even been asked for our drink orders. We really like this spot and their beer, but today’s lack of service felt super weird and unwelcoming. We ended up leaving hungry and confused. Hoping this was just a fluke, but it was a very disappointing way to spend a lunch break.

We had a great time at Thornapple Brewing this evening. The atmosphere is inviting, and the servers are kind and helpful. The food and drinks we tried were delicious. We will definitely be back to try more food and drinks soon.

I used to come her with my wife somewhat regularly. After the experience I just had, we will not be back.

We had to get our own silverware. Our appetizers were delivered without plates. My sandwich had to be remade twice because it came out wrong both times.

The food that did come out took over 30 minutes to come out and it was lukewarm at best, obviously had been sitting in the window for quite awhile.

When I spoke to a manager, she blamed everything on the kitchen. Maybe it was a kitchen error, or a server error, but our service was horrendous.
