Chicken Head’s:
I got the (massive) Medusa chicken sandwich, Nest loaded fries, 3 piece tender basket, and truffle mac & cheese. This food has soul. Almost too much soul to handle. All that being said, the loaded fries were seasoned more than most people in this area are gonna be used to, so if you want to avoid spice, I would look for something more pared down on the menu like the sweet potato fries. All the fried chicken is seasoned perfect for both delicate and soul-searching palates. My Medusa sandwich was for the choir of flavor coming out through the chicken, collard greens, pickled onions, and Mac & cheese.

I’m a frequent traveler & recently been to Miami, New York & Chicago within the last 2-3 months. That being said, after having this for the first time, I can confidently say that this is some of the absolute best food we’ve had all year. Crisp, flavorful, hot, innovative & not to mention amazing people that make you feel welcome. All around one of the best restaurants in the country

My second time eating Chicken Head’s and I grabbed the tenders and beignets. The beignets were lightly sweet and airy. The cinnamon butter and syrup together make for a fun combination and add to an already sweet treat. Neither are overly sugary and add a bit of layering to the flavor of the beignets. The tenders are well seasoned, juicy, and pair well with whatever choice of sauce. I had (and loved) the Gem City Hot sauce. It had a well tempered level of spice and a flavor that rested nicely on the tongue, not blistering heat but you will feel it. Reminded me of good times and great chicken I had in Nashville! Quality food and service, you won’t be disappointed!
FYI: when you order every order is made fresh and the time it takes can vary. Plan your order ahead of time considering peak times, etc. and when the text comes in it will be ready. It is worth it!

Overall amazing experience! Food was delicious, the pick up process was easy and smooth, and the chef was extremely personable and friendly!
The waffle fries were the best I have ever had! The chicken is seasoned well and juicy. The mango lemonade was super smooth and yummy.

Perhaps the best chicken sandwich in the area! The chicken breast was seasoned and cooked perfectly and was very moist. The mac and cheese, greens, and pickled onions worked very well on top. The wings were prepared just as well as the chicken breast, and the sauces were great. Our sides had a ton of great flavor. Even though it’s a bit out of our way, this has instantly become one of our favorite spots. Don’t miss out on all of the great deals they have throughout the week!

We had no idea what a ghost kitchen was, and the owner/chef was incredibly kind and gracious enough to explain. The food was absolutely worth the wait. It was fresh, flavorful, and enough food to fill you. We loved every bite and will definitely be going back!

We tried the medusa sandwich, waffle fries, tenders, fried green tomatoes, hawaiian rolls, and the tiger head lemonade tea. Everything was soo good, and the portions were bigger than I expected for the price. The small fry was more than enough. A large fry I would recommend if you’re splitting between 2 people. I don’t normally like waffle fries, but these waffle fries had so much more flavor and were crispier than your average waffle fries. The signature sauce and the bbq sauce were really good! The tigerhead lemonade was just the right amount of sweetness.

We heard about Chicken Heads from a friend and when she named Greens as a side, I knew I had to try this place. We placed a large order with my large family and it was a hit! (The large family helped us try a little of everything.)
The Chicken Tenders ARE jumbo, no lie. But my 14 year old could put down 3. The Fried Green tomatoes made our southern friend even say, “wow”. The Medusa is not only fabulous, but a work of art.
While the atmosphere only received a 3, the owner is working on to-go cocktails and I see these as sippers while you wait for your food. This has the possibility of a few additional stars.
Speaking of the owner, he personally thanked me for my email and the order. VERY friendly and even though busy, still had time to smile for a picture with me.
Hungry? Go check them out!
Note: They are small and even though they may not have the ability to answer the phone; you WILL get an email reply to any question you may have!

while preparing to visit my foodie brother in dayton, ohio, i started looking at his restaurant recommendations online. i first landed on ‘chicken heads’ in kettering. the stuff online looked fantastic and it does in person, too.
there is no dine-in option, but the process works perfectly…you order online then just pick it up.
we also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, chef anthony head. he was incredibly cool and thanked us for stopping by.
simply stated, the chicken tenders were perfect. hot, crispy and juicy, nothing like the standard frozen, lame tenders so many places serve…
the tater tots were great, as was the honey mustard/bbq sauce…
this place rocks:)))

Ever wonder what the red building is next to IT on E. Dorothy? Well….now it’s Chicken Head’s and do they have some JUMBO! tenders! You may need a knife and fork to eat them. First timers tonight. The chicken was super juicy. We got the garlic parm, garlic buffalo, and sweet chili sauces. Sweet potato fries and seasoned potatoes. And we both got the tiger head half tea half lemonade. They make it and bottle it themselves Everything was great! We met the chef. He is super personable. He even gave us sample bottles of their Ethiopian cold brew that they are getting ready to roll out.
If you get the chance to check them out, please do. They are new to OUR area and word of mouth is everything.
