Social Profile:

Reid’s is a family owned and operated business in downtown Booneville, Ar. We specialize in smoked meats such as, brisket, ribs, pulled pork boneless/skinless chicken breast and sausage. Our sauces and sides are comprised of our very own recipes and ingredients. Our cooking process is done the old fashioned way. Our meats are smoked from start to finish using wood only. We pride ourselves in not producing a competition style barbecue. We refer to our style as raysrback style. We use a homemade sweet and spicy dry rub that was designed to mimic and compliment the flavor of our sauce. Our meats are prepared daily to ensure quality and freshness. All meats are served dry (without sauce). Our sauces are provided at the table.

One of the very best barbecue restaurants in the entire state, and I say that as a person who has visited more than four hundred Arkansas barbecue restaurants. The brisket is excellent and the burnt ends even better, but they’re only offered on Saturday. I usually go for fried pies, but on my last visit had the cheesecake and boy. I am glad I did because there is a local woman who offers different flavors each day and it is worth trying count to what she comes out with. The Reid family are so nice.

After reading reviews drove out from Fort Smith to try them. Tried the sampler plate. The smoked turkey was very good and moist. Ribs were dry and not much on them. Home made cole slaw was very good. Overall decent, but I wouldn’t drive that far to go back. Also it’s sort of expensive. It was $70 for the two of us.

Beautiful drive to Booneville to Reid’s and well worth it! I had never been and wasn’t sure what to try. The hostess was really helpful in asking me questions and providing suggestions. I opted for a sampler and their brisket and ribs were top notch! The best bbq I’ve had that I can recall in recent years. Their sides were just as good. I tried the warm potato salad, baked beans, green beans, salad, and mac and cheese, and I would buy all again, but was especially partial to that warm potato salad and Mac!! Don’t even think about leaving without trying their desserts. The cheesecakes look amazing but I opted for coconut fried pie and peaches and cream fried pie and was not disappointed! I would go back just for their desserts alone! My family will definitely return!

Went here on a whim as we were staying in Mount Magazine State Park and had read that Reid’s was THE PLACE to get bbq in Arkansas. I’ve had Wrights, so I figured I would torture my wife and 2 year old and make the 52 min trek to Reid’s.

Further to my credit… I have had the pleasure of eating some of the best bbq in the world: Franklins bbq, interstellar BBQ, Goldie’s BBQ, Kruez market, Terry black, Leroy and Lewis (when they were in the truck) to name a few. I’ve had the best of the best (self proclaimed by Texas of course).

No line when we arrived (it was cold) and they have plenty of space to sit (which likely cuts down on the line this place would produce). Decided to order to go as my kid woke up with a terrible case of the shits and I didn’t want to subject anyone to that kind of misery :).

We ordered Steve’s sampler (sliced brisket, turkey, jalapeño cheddar sausage, rib, )beans, Cajun okra, Karla fries. Added burnt ends cuz why the hell not and they have them on Saturday

Brisket was perfectly executed. Passed the pull test. Nice bark with perfect seasoning
Turkey: DAMN… get the damn turkey. That’s all I’m gonna say.
Ribs: perfectly cooked. Not falling off, not tough. Meat sticks to the rib, great dry rub balance
House made Jalapeño cheddar sausage: Could eat this all on its own. A whole damn platter of it
Burnt ends: perfect bark, perfect seasoning, nice and moist how they should be.

SIDES
Karly fries: had this Ying/Yang spice of sweet and savory. Lightly covered with Bbq sauce
Cajun Okra: nice dusting of their custom spice.

All in and all, this place is definitely worth the journey. Bbq basics was perfectly executed in my humble opinion. Sides were unique and help differentiate them from the crowded field of bbq world. Not “would return again”… We WILL return again. 😉

Last but not least, the staff was as friendly as can be which goes a long way in my books

This is a barbeque Fan’s destination spot. Some of the best barbeque spots anywhere are in small towns or out of the way locations. Reid’s is just that. Located on Main Street in Booneville, AR, this place has become legendary. They are only open three days a week, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. And once the ‘cue is gone for the day, it’s gone . I just had the Brisket Sandwitch with Barbecue Beans. The meat was smoked to perfection and their mild sauce was a great complement. The beans were some of the best I have EVER HAD. Our server was fantastic and the atmosphere was a little loud (Razorback Basketball). This is a great place for a Saturday Noontime Road trip. Bravo Reid’s. Bravo!!!

While visiting Ft Smith we were told of a great place to get barbecue. ~50 minutes from where we were staying was Reid’s BBQ. Initially we were going to postpone to Sunday since we spent the day sightseeing however they are not opened on Sunday.

We made the drive but sadly they were already out of Ribs & Pulled Pork. We had a great server (Kaylie) and she did an awesome job in getting us to sample what was available.

We ordered two Steve’s Sampler which gave us plenty of options. The presentation was very good. On one platter we had Smoked Turkey & Burnt Ends,Mac n Cheese, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad. On the other tray we had Baked Beans, Okra, Regular Fries & Cajun Fries, Brisket, 2 types of Sausage and what was remaining of the pulled pork. All of which was very good.

We had the Fried Pies for dessert but we only ordered 2 to share. Highly recommend the Pecan Pie w/Vanilla Ice Cream. The second Fried Pie was Blackberry w/Vanilla Ice Cream another great choice.

A down side was the Burnt Ends, I found them way too salty which otherwise would have been excellent.

The positives outweighed the negative. Starting with Kaylie our server, she made our dining experience wonderful! All of the sides we chose were delicious, the top picks were the Baked Beans, Cole Slaw & Potato Salad. I could not say because I’m not a Mac n Cheese fan so I don’t know. The Okra was mediocre and if I’m choosing fries I’m going with the regular.

Since we were first time customers our drinks were comped

Overall it was worth the drive from Ft Smith. Obviously I want to give a higher star rating but I really wanted the Ribs & Pulled Pork. This does not detract from the overall experience, I would still recommend going however, a call ahead before you go would be a great idea to see if they have what you like.

World class BBQ right here. They must be from Texas. Get the Steve’s sampler 3 meats 4 sides diner for two. Best bakepotato and okra I’ve ever had. Better save room for fried pies and ice cream. Bbq sauce wow 3 to choose from. We eat there once a week and it’s always good! Home made jalapeño pineapple sausage to die for!!!

Everything is top notch! My family of 3 all throughly enjoyed our meals! My 2 year old ate all of his pulled pork slider while doing the happy dance. I am glad we had just enough room to try a fried lemon pie that was recommended by our waitress- it was delicious and paired perfect with the vanilla ice cream! We will have to make the drive from Fort Smith again soon!

Amazing delicious barbecue served in a quaint small town historic building. Lightning-fast Arkansas friendly service. Very limited hours. The food is wonderfully fresh.

My wife had the Cassie’s Salad. A large plate packed with romaine, smoked chicken, cheese, bacon bits and covered with your choice of BBQ sauce or ranch dressing or both. A tasty fresh salad!

I had the two-meat with a side of creamy slaw and Cajun Fried Okra. Basically, fried okra dusted with a Cajun spice blend. A unique twist on an old favorite. For the meat I had tender juicy sliced brisket and the house made sausage. A delicious meat and cheddar sausage packed in a casing and then smoked to perfection. Three versions of BBQ sauces are on the table. The hot was good, but the medium bootleg was my favorite.
Texas BBQ ain’t got nothin’ on these Hillbillies. Wonderful food great service Eat Here!
