Maybe they ran out of rice and peas and didn’t feel like saying anything hoping I wouldn’t notice till after I left. I noticed as soon as I got to the car and opened the box, but after ordering ahead and got there 30 minutes after ordering and still having to wait another 20 minutes, I just decided to leave in frustration. Disappointing because I’ve been going here for years.
The food itself wasn’t even all that. You could go to Golden Krust or any other restaurant for an oxtail dinner and a lot of their oxtail had a lot of fat on it. The steamed cabbage wasn’t great and there was only one plantain. I originally asked if plantain came with it because I wanted a lot but after eating my single plantain, I’m glad I didn’t purchase a side order.
Usually when the service is bad you expect great food…not the case. I will also say she was friendly with islanders when they came into the store so there could be some bias.
We were welcomed by a nice chap who was very patient as I took my time trying to figure out what would be agreeable to my sensitive stomach and palate. I ordered the stew peas and rice, and requested more salad than rice. My husband ordered the fried chicken with rice and peas.
Our meals were excellent. Well prepared and just what we wanted for a comfort meal. My stew peas had both beef and pigs tail; perfectly seasoned and well-blended. The salad, fresh. And as requested, I received more salad than rice.
My husband expressed approval of his meal, as well. It was on point .
We also had a slice of rum cake and fruit cake. To which the young man advised me not to eat the rum cake and drive . I appreciated the advice. The cakes were delish.
The layout of the restaurant is also lovely. Great place to take business associates, out-of-towners, family and friends.
Thank you. Great customer service and food. Customers for life ❤️
Food looked really delicious and steaming hot when I got it and the moment I tasted it I knew I choose the right restaurant out of so many options.
Meat was really tender and juicy with right amount of fatty meat. Rice was also perfectly cooked.
I ordered raw scotch Bonnets on the side as I like to eat spicy and every bite of the hot food with the peppers tasted like heaven.
I kept eating nonstop and finished the whole large Platter.
Thankyou Again Aunt I’s I will surely visit again when I am back to Miami.
