this place is phenomenal. The smash burger was my wife and I’s favorite and their smash sauce is top notch. Visiting from California, it rivals in-n-out burger. I didn’t have to fight my kids to finish their pizza too (Which is rare – will definitely be coming back)! Great place to bring the whole family, met up with my wife’s family here and they accommodated all 15 of us perfectly.
Our waitress, Georgia provided above & beyond service & best energy.
To top it off – was able to play the slots at the end of the meal!

Old City Pizzeria & Sports Bar (also known as Nancy’s) truly feels like a blast from the past. From the outside, it may not look like anything out of the ordinary, but the moment you walk in, you’re hit with pure nostalgia. The interior instantly reminds you of what classic pizzeria sports bars used to be like.
I ordered a slice of cheese and a slice of sausage, and wow, the quality was outstanding. The flavors were spot on, and after the first bite, I honestly wanted to go back for more. You can really tell care goes into the food here.
The service was just as impressive. The waiter, who also happened to be a former owner, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He walked me through which dishes were popular and checked in frequently without being overbearing.
The ambiance brought me back to my childhood, hanging out at sports bars with my brother. Overall, Old City Pizzeria & Sports Bar delivers excellent food, great service, and a nostalgic atmosphere. I highly recommend if you’re looking for high-quality pizza and an old-school vibe.

The best smash burger I have had, better than small cheval and any other restaurant I’ve been too, I had a great time. The drinks were reasonably priced and the service was excellent. I also loved the slots after I finished my meal there’s a really great inviting spot to play slots. I even won some money. Would 10/10 recommend.

We had pizza delivered for the first time, and I must say the pizza was very tasty. The only thing I would change is the crust. It was soggy, possibly from delivery. But the overall taste, tomatoes, and ingredients were very delicious, and fresh. We ordered the Margarita pizza, and sausage/mushroom deep dish. Also, the deep dish had the right amount of cheese. I look forward to dining in next time. Thanks!

First time in Chicago and first time here and what a great experience. This is also my first time eating a Chicago deep dish pizza and it was PERFECTION! From the moment we went in, Fred welcomed us and was very kind. We got some cold nice beers, garlic parm wings and the Cheesehead clash pizza. Everything was outstanding. I’m so happy we came here!!

I decided to give the newly renamed Old City Pizzeria & Sports Bar (formerly Nancy’s on Golf Road) a try, but unfortunately, it just didn’t deliver. The stuffed pizza had no real wow factor, and my palate just isn’t aligned with what they’re doing here. With all the changes and rebranding, I was hoping for something impressive, but it fell flat.
The place looks fine, but the food didn’t stand out. I won’t be returning.
For comparison, Caruso’s in Des Plaines is still my go‑to. Every time I come home from a business trip, that’s the pizza I crave—consistent, flavorful, and genuinely satisfying. Old City just doesn’t come close.

I don’t live too close so I don’t get a chance to come eat here, but I’m going to add this to my pizza spot rotation. I got the Greektown Pizza, with Kalamata olives, feta cheese, green onions and sausage. The crust was tavern style and it was really great! Even after the 20ish minute ride home. And the Calamari I ordered was very tasty. Loved the breading on it.

Nice spot, cozy ambience and friendly service. If this jawn was outside of Chicago I’d likely give 5 stars for the pie, but “for Chicago Pie” I have to give it 4. It was good, but we’ve had better. Also the jalapeño poppers definitely seemed like the frozen out of the box type which was disappointing.

Heard about this place from friends how new owners took over added a bar and televisions playing all games. Went to check it out and it was a good choice! Loved the food (Monday & Saturday 1/2 off pizza) great friendly and welcoming environment and atmosphere. Definitely making it a hang out! Good luck to you guys and thank you for an excellent visit! Just an update my best friend just came here and put a $20 in the slot machines and made $1,760! Guess who’s taking me out tonight.

Stopped here while traveling through Illinois. We’ll have to be a regular stop. Pizza was amazing, family owned, wonderful staff. Great atmosphere. We will stop there every time. They had a recent name change. It used to be Nancy’s pizza but is now old city pizzeria in sports bar. The sign outside by the street still says Nancy, but don’t be confused, and it is fantastic. Fred and Gina are amazing, and Fred is the best.!
