Porky’s owner, Scott Roberts, comes from a family of pit masters and barbeque fanatics. In fact, his father Dennis Roberts opened a barbeque restaurant in 1988, named Mozarks out of Clinton, MO. Scott’s dad taught him the family pit master secrets on how to create meat so tender it melted in your mouth. He also showed him how to smoke the meat properly so that it created the thickest red ring, which produced the best wood-smoked flavor.

Absolutely fantastic BBQ experience.
You can immediately taste the freshness and quality of the meat. Everything was cooked perfectly with that authentic smoky flavor that true BBQ lovers appreciate. The meat was tender, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care.
The sides were just as impressive. The mac and cheese was creamy and comforting without being too heavy, the coleslaw was fresh and crisp, and the BBQ beans had a great balance of flavor without overpowering the meal. Everything complemented the BBQ perfectly.
The BBQ sauce deserves a special mention rich, balanced, and incredibly tasty. It enhanced the flavor of the meat instead of masking it.
Another thing I really appreciated was the portion size and overall value. You get generous servings and high-quality food that feels worth every dollar.
Its family-owned ♥️ , welcoming atmosphere, where you can tell the people behind the food genuinely care about what they’re serving.
Honestly, this spot has been better than several larger BBQ places I’ve tried around Kansas City, downtown, and the Overland Park area.

Doordash order review: Ribs 8/10 , brisket 5/10
-nice smoke and flavor on ribs and very close to falling of bone good / brisket was ok tender yes✅️ flavor yes ✅️ but for me waaaay to lean, i’m from texas and we like a little fat cap on our meat it provides all of the right flavor and moisture content for perfect smoke. With that being said, brisket gets a low rating for me.

We went to Porky’s blazing BBQ for the first time. I got the large pulled pork sandwich, which the said is 1/3 lb. And a large baked beans as a side. The pork had just the right amount of smoke flavor, as well as the beans, which seemed to have chunks of burnt ends in them (a plus). We went around lunch time, which was busy but worth a small wait for the food. Tidy place to eat, clean restroom. My wife got the small turkey sandwich with a small macaroni side (white cheese). She allowed me to sample her sandwich, which was good. However, I have never been a huge fan of turkey. My wife really liked the sandwich. There is a couple of pictures of the Kansas City chiefs Quarter Back, Patrick Mahomes with the staff there, along with KC Wolf. When I warms up a bit more, we will probably make the ride on the Harley for a good meal again

Great BBQ close to Kansas City! Nice to see a non-chain restaurant with great atmosphere and delicious barbecue. The burnt ends and turkey sandwich’s were delicious and a great serving. The Mac and Cheese was really good, especially for those who white cheese. Nice sauce selection!

I want to support local businesses and wanted to love this place. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. The sauce is not house made. The beans, slaw and the Mac and cheese tasted like they came from the Hyvee deli. The sandwiches were ok, not outstanding for the price. Overall pricey for what we got. I’m glad we gave it a try. Too many other bbq places in greater KC to come back.

If you have only driven by Porky’s Blazin’ BBQ on Buckner-Tarsney Road south of Grain Valley, AND YOU DIDN’T STOP… you’re mistaken. We came to eat as a group, like 8 or 9 people and I know it’s a lot, but the staff was so polite and accommodating. They explained what they’re best known for and we went with that! The ribs, are TENDER, bite right off the bone, no problem. Add a little of that sweet sauce, and it’s finger lickin GOOD! Lol! Again, we had a large group, so we had variety of choices. I also recommended the Mac N Cheese, (White Cheese) so creamy! So yummy! Turkey and ham was yummy as well! Again, the atmosphere, was very comfortable and home like. So I enjoyed my meal. 10/10. We will be back. Hey, Patrick Mahomes approved of this good home cooking as well lol

So good!!! Ribs and brisket were fantastic. They sold out of burnt ends before we got there. I’m looking forward to trying those next visit. We didn’t think the sweet or hot BBQ sauces were good, but i didn’t try their mild sauce, so maybe it’s better. The meat tasted awesome without any sauce. Very nice folks running the business and fun atmosphere.

I first started eating here in 2007 or 2008. The place need a little bit of work back then but the food was fantastic. Fast forward to 2022 and you’ll find the same great food. The ribs have a fantastic smoky flavor with just the right amount of texture when you Bite into them. My favorite is the pulled pork sandwich with barbecue beans on the side. And yes the beans have meat in them. As for the restaurant that needs a little attention Wayback when? You can tell they have done some remodeling and the place is quite cozy now, but I felt it was then too.

If you have only driven by Porky’s Blazin’ BBQ on Buckner-Tarsney Road south of Grain Valley, you have done yourself wrong. They are amazing. The ribs are bite off the bone tender, and the pulled pork and shredded brisket sandwiches are massive. The side dishes are big enough for 3 to share (large size) and well worth trying them all. Great road-side BBQ atmosphere.
