Golden brown and delicious should be renamed, Charcoal Brickette and Crunch.
Three of us ordered chicken sandwiches.
Pros:
-Visually appealing, solid flavor profiles. (Original chicken and Korean chicken sandwiches)
-Nice atmosphere
Cons:
-All of the food was WAY overcooked. Chicken was super dry and stringy
-50/50 ratio of chicken to breading
-Turned into a teeth crunching brickette
-Fries were cold.
-Long wait time with very few customers present.
Their menu looks fantastic and the flavor is there for the options we tried, but clearly somone doesn’t understand how to cook.
2/5 stars is generous. Can easily fix the probelms with understanding how to cook and providing attention to detail. Judging by other reviews it seems like the quality took a nosedive in the last few months. Terrible Chicken sandwich.

We came on a Sunday night about an hour before the Commons was closing.
The staff seemed a little short staffed and they had a number of orders before us. With that said, they did an incredible job in taking care of our party of 5. We have some food sensitivities in the family and they were knowledgeable in their ingredients and helped answer all the questions to ensure our food was appropriate for us.
From the service, to the food itself, the team including Brandon did a phenomenal job making sure our family was taken well care of. We had the OG Burger, Delicious Burger, Chicken Sando (not pictured) Black Sesame Chicken Salad, and the Steak Frites(pictured).
We’ve been going here for years and will continue to go here because we absolutely love and appreciate their hard work. Thank you again Brandon and staff for being great!

I got their Delicious Burger which looked great but didn’t really deliver. Everything lacked seasoning (salt in particular – seriously, these guys should invest in some good salt shakers). I added another patty but the burger needed more cheese, needed salt, and had a clump of onion that needed to be cut just sitting at the top.

This place used to be so good, but with an entire new kitchen it sucks. We waited for our order for over 45 minutes. The man way behind us brought back his order after 25 minutes and the kitchen manager looked at the expo after she asked should I give them the bag? I said no way we don’t know if he laced it, touched it, ate out of it? Especially after Covid that’s not sanitary. They didn’t even check the order! Super disappointed. Then 15 min later we thought our order was being worked on and the expo asked what’s your order again? We understand by working in restaurants and being a Friday night, but this was REALLY BAD AND CONCERNING. If a food prospector was there they would’ve shut down the restaraunt. You can’t give food away after walking away and not even checking the order who clearly opened and touched it. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Was a great place before and during the pandemic. Quality dip was noticeable in the past few years so I just stopped going; but they didn’t have a line and the other places did, so I got two kids’ meals. Food was fine, chicken tenders a bit overcooked. My rating is more for the service just not being very attentive on Sunday around lunch time. Small mistakes.

Overrated, expensive food court atmosphere… GB&D was good when it was at the west village but now it’s just a money grab… basic food and not even good! It was not rush hour, staff was clueless. I was alone with my kids (2 and 5) and I had to go back 3 times to get all my food… pretty inconvenient to go back and forth and either leave my kids at the table or bring them to the counter… but after they messed up a simple order, no one offered to bring the missing food to our table, the “chef” was there and gave me an attitude… when I came back with the last item I ordered (3 items, 3 run to the counter) my 2 year old was choking on her food… they may have to work in process improvement and also go to culinary school… I guess you don’t really need to with a menu that simple. Just work on process improvement. If you find yourself stuck at the commons, you can find some good food! Automatic Taco is good! Kuka Juice, LaRue… and Community tap has some good stuff!! You will still be able to enjoy the food court atmosphere! Just avoid GB$D!

I used to enjoy GBD but our last two times eating here have been disappointing. I had a burger a week or two ago that I could barely see or taste it was so small. This evening we had two salads that were 90% kale and barely any toppings and both times the service was very slow.

I’m disappointed every time I eat here. I had heard of GBD from many people 5 years ago when I moved to Greenville. But in that time, they changed locations and dropped their quality and value.
The burger I had was a laughable size. More like a slider and meat was dry as a bone. If you want to spend $20 on a burger and fries go elsewhere.
Also, charging $10 for a kids grilled cheese should be criminal. Another ripoff.

My mother wanted some French fries to complement her lunch from another vendor. I stood in line for 20 minutes at Golden Brown & Delicious and had to explain in detail that I wanted only a large side of fries.
I was given a buzzer and returned to my table. After waiting 25 minutes, I went back to inquire what was causing the delay. It was clear that the cashier and cooks had ignored or forgotten about my order.
(1) We were charged the full amount for the Appetizer of fries, but without the four toppings. (2) The amount of fries we received for $10 plus 15% tip was small. (3) As I stood there the second time, I noticed a large steel mixing bowl that was at least half full of freshly cooked fries.
They could have given me an order of fries when I first paid for them. I will never give this food retailer any of my money again. The fries were good, but the small amount, the long wait, me having to ask again for my food, and being disrespected were uncalled for.

The chicken and waffles definitely lived up to the hype! This place was featured on best thing I ever ate so that is what attracted me to go there. I definitely enjoyed the meal. The vibe overall was good but only the bar is full service. Well the bartender was pretty cool he was definitely more attentive to some friends of his that were there at the bar. Not that he didn’t get me my food and serve me but he was definitely way more involved in the conversation with them. I do like how the receipt was served in a book of poems which was a nice touch.
