Sushi on Jones holds a special memory for me, starting from my first visit to the al fresco Omakase bar in Bowery market to my recent return during the pandemic to the West Village location. On a weeknight, my friends and I were fortunate to secure six sushi counter seats at the LES location.

The service we received was friendly and prompt. They offered two omakase menus, one with 12 pieces for $68 and another with 20 pieces for $120. We could switch to the 20-piece menu towards the end of the 12 pieces if we were still hungry.

Chef Jin sliced each fish with care to showcase its flavor, and each sushi piece was delicious. We spent over two hours at the restaurant, chatting with the chef, and watching how each piece was made.

The LES’s ambiance was very zen, with a large sushi counter and tables around the room. Highly recommended for any sushi lovers!

Everything from the atmosphere to the food is exceptional here. I had the omakase, which for $68 and 12 courses isn’t that expensive. The fish was incredibly fresh and the warm rice always paired well with the temperature of the fish. All the flavors came together beautifully in each dish. My personal favorite was the tuna with truffle salt, the fish melted in your mouth and the sear from the blowtorch added a good texture. I also had the Matcha sponge cake, which was actually a bit dry, but the cream cheese frosting was amazing and the small notes of almond added a complexity to the whole dessert. The staff were incredibly friendly and the whole experience was just amazing. Special praise to the ginger because it was some of the best I’ve ever had.

Great experience, we went on Memorial Day so it was very quiet night. We had a lovely time with our sushi chef. Did the 12pc omakase and ordered a waguy tartare, o toro maki and waguy&uni nigiri from a la carte. Sushi was delicious and very fresh, they get deliveries daily. We had such a nice relaxed evening – can’t wait to be back!

Please do yourself a favor and do not waste your money here. Red flag when server tells you omakase is going to be 45min.

Facts: After many omakase restaurants literally the smallest pieces of sushi we’ve ever had. Half sized portions of everything with just barely a hint of rice.

Subjective facts: Also highly imbalanced in flavors, overly salty at moments and simplistic in others. Tasted below even the semi-affordable price.

Saving grace: Photos look nice, and restaurant design is clean and attractive. But looks don’t match the actual product.

Barely two stars.

Omakase for $58 includes 13 courses, one of the best values downtown. Highlights include the king salmon, barracuda, and Amberjack. The a la carte menu is equally strong, with a laid back and minimalist vibe. Definitely recommend

It was an amazing omakase experience! I can say that I had a gastronomic orgasm. In every bite I could delight and feel all the ingredients. It was delicious.
I also ordered O-Toro separately because it didn’t come in my Omasake.
I had Mule and it was also perfect. Just the way I like.
Service was really good and i loved the decoration. The plant on the ceiling looked like a jellyfish.

One of my favorite (affordable) omakase spots in NYC! There’s several locations!

The lineup is solid and the rice is always on spot. The fish always fresh. And the chef always super kind and attentive.

My night with my wife was especially special because we were the only ones there. Chef took extra special care to us and we enjoyed every single bite.

This place was founded on a quick(30 min slot) + affordable omakase which is what I loved. I’m a fast eater and love value so always come back to this spot. We weren’t rushed this time due to the lack of people there but we thoroughly enjoyed the omakase.

Tucked away behind a bodega is a great spot for an amazing spot to get a omakase meal. The service staff was attentive and chefs choices were brilliant, highlighted by a salmon roll that tastes like an everything bagel.

The crispy rice and gyoza were also amazing but sticking to the omakase is the best way if you’re siting at the bar.

This place was killer…. The crispy rice is off the hook! Was talked into it by Bill (sushi ninja) and it was amazing. I would eat it daily! The staff is top notch! Why wasn’t there a line around the block? You are crazy not to be blowing this place up… we were crazy lucky to just walk in without knowing anything about this place. This sushi spot is a gem! Bill loves this food and is a wonderful guide through this taste experience!
