We went for breakfast to celebrate my son’s 13th birthday. The staff were friendly and the food was southern comfort to the max. We boxed up our leftovers and have another meal waiting for us! The staff were kind and coffee cups never ran dry.

Yeah, it does kind of feel like a truck stop. Big parking lot, easy access. It is located a short distance south of I-40 and just a few blocks west of 540 in an industrial area. It is conveniently and inconspicuously attached to the “no-tell” hotel, aka Motel 6. You know, the place where they keep the light on for you! Wake up, wander down the hall, sober up with a fresh hot cup of coffee and a big breakfast.
The restaurant is highly rated by travelers and the locals. We were headed home and purposely held out for breakfast until we hit Van Buren. It was worth the wait. I had my usual breakfast. Check the pictures. It was perfect and the gravy…..This is what country sausage cream gravy is supposed to look like and how it is supposed to taste. It was the best. My wife went with the short stack and thick crispy bacon. A very enjoyable breakfast. Great service.
It is a big roomy restaurant, that gets busy early in the morning and around lunch time. Hours are limited 6am-2pm. Patrons rave about the lunch offering too.

Ok so this one us difficult. Keep in mind this little diner is attached to a motel 6. Which is usually a hard pass for me, but the service was great and the food was above my expectations. Omelets were made well and stuffed with meat. The home fries were pretty good and the biscuit was homemade. The atmosphere is what you would expect being mext to a motel 6. The decor is 70s diner style. So overall it was good but not great.

The wait staff is so friendly. They were hugging customers they knew when they came in or left. Our waitress Audrey was so nice.
We visited 2 weeks after the reopen from an electrical fire.
The food was good, fast, and cooked perfectly they way we wanted it. Audrey said we could have it how we wanted it at D’s Family Restaurant.
We WILL be back for lunch when we’re in town.

Ridin’ Dirty Outdoors
Small diner adjoined to a Motel6. Was surprisingly very welcoming and service was great. My food came out quickly and tasted great. I stopped in from traveling on i40 so if you’re hungry it’s a good spot to take a break.

I stopped in at D’s this morning at 9 am and it was busy! No waiting for a table and it’s a “seat yourself” place. Food arrived quickly and looked delicious. Sue Ann took great care of me and kept my coffee topped off. I enjoyed a 6 ounce rib eye, two eggs, extra crispy hash browns and a pancake. It was plenty for me to share and not leave hungry. The salt water aquarium was a great bonus and I always make sure I sit facing it to watch the fish.

The breakfast was good and served very quickly. The portions are generous for what you pay. My waitress, Audry was very friendly and attentive. I had asked her what chocolate gravy was because this is something that isn’t available where I am from and she brought me a sample to try. Their chocolate gravy tastes like condensed hot chocolate and would pair well with one of their pancakes or Belgian waffles. I will absolutely go here again, the service was wonderful.
