Social Profile:

ZEM is an avant-garde Czech bistro, juxtaposing the aesthetics of Pragues traditional coffee houses with 1920s retro-futuristic Czech art, literature and engineering. We had an amazing date at ZEM. The staff is very friendly and always open for a chat, but also very professional. The location is gorgeous decorated.
I am a big fan of tartare and in here i just had my very best!!! I liked the main dish, i recommend the black chicken and the desert was tasty. The food is on the pricy side, but you really pay for an experience, you get a plate very coherent and well executed.

A very cozy, but elegant quiet place where you can eat incredibly delicious food. Reinterpretation of Czech cuisine with Asian flair. Potato waffles and cheeks were incomparable! And thank you very much to the waiter for the excellent wine recommendation.

Some places feed you; ZEM reminds you why you chose this profession. From the moment we arrived, the team welcomed us not as guests but as fellow craftsmen. The open kitchen glowed with calm focus. Fire, steam, and precision in perfect rhythm, yet what stayed with us most was the kindness and quiet pride behind every movement.

We began with Potato Waffles layered with smoked cheese, cranberry chutney, truffle honey, and cashew nuts: playful, balanced, and a statement of intent. The Beef Tartare with herb mayo, yolk emulsion, and bone marrow proved that technique and warmth can coexist in one bite.

For mains, the Pigeon and Guinea Fowl with rosehip and black walnut, and the Garlic Chicken with black garlic, spinach, and a silk-soft pumpkin dumpling, showed a mastery that goes beyond skill. It felt like storytelling through flavour.

Desserts were the perfect encore: a cleansing Ginger Shot Granita, a refined Cuban Cake of banana and chocolate, and a joyful Mango Mochi with matcha yuzu caviar and coconut jelly – proof that pastry can be both intelligent and emotional.

The chefs’ attentiveness, the servers’ warmth, the genuine passion shared at every step; it was extraordinary. ZEM is not just a restaurant; it’s a living classroom of generosity, knowledge, and soul.

This place is worth exploring. I stayed at the Andaz hotel for a business trip two weeks ago. I usually do not pay attention to hotel restaurants, but ZEM is not just a hotel restaurant. The food is fantastic! Both in taste and presentation. They have a small but well curated, varying, menú. If you want to try Czech food, it has several items that will give you a good idea of the local flavors. If you want other non-autochthonous options, you will find something too. For breakfast they have many options, from light and fresh, to rich and hearty (their French toast is to die for). Lunch has wonderful options as well (I had venison paired with a very smooth Czech red that were a nice midday treat. However, the magic happens at night. The atmosphere turns exciting and dynamic. They low lighting setting combined with the tall windows overlooking the street invite you in if you are looking for a sofisticated meal and a good time. I had the pleasure of sitting at the bar, where I got to look at one of the female cooks work her magic as she prepared a mouthwatering tuna tataki to start my night off the right way. Then I had a delicious filet-mignon, followed by a marvelous Cuban cake, and a sip of becherovka to finish off the meal like a king. The staff was very attentive, and professional. The chef made some time to come say hi and ensure everything went well. If you are around, stop by, you will not be disappointed.

I had tried the cafe before but it was the first time I went to the restaurant.

Everything was good except for this young man who took our order. He did not understand simple english and we struggled with him for some time. Even at last, he brought us the wrong thing twice. I think his level of english was not enough for this place.

I had veal snitzel for lunch and it was really tasty. The grilled mushrooms were also fantastic

The food was truly excellent – very refined, well balanced and high quality. Every course was a pleasure.
However, the prices felt quite expensive for the overall experience.
Amazing food, but the price is on the higher side.

What can be said. It’s part of Andaz. We have been having breakfast here everyday staying at the hotel. It’s just great and the staff don’t have the word no in their vocabulary. Lovely place overall.

Although we didn’t have a reservation (which is definitely recommended), the staff went above and beyond to arrange a table for us. The food was incredible – explosions of flavors and such a beautiful presentation! The staff were friendly and professional, and the overall design and style of this place added to the vibe. We had such a wonderful experience! ️✨
