The staff meets you with a beautiful smile and great patience (even when we customers may be indecisive about what to order)! It’s a busy, happenin’ place w/ a lot of variety to offer your taste buds!! If you’re going there…especially during busy times (e.g., lunch, etc.), it’s good to remember to offer the same patience and kindness that the staff grants (to) YOU (the customer). It is not a fast food place…there are many steps taken to offer such variety of food, drinks, etc., in the space in which it’s run. So, when you have some extra time, and you want to have a good dining and/or beverage experience, try out Mediterra Cafe ☺️❤️☕️

Mediterra is my absolute favorite breakfast spot in Pittsburgh. The food is always fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor — very European-style and elevated. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for a slow morning or brunch.

What really impressed me are the details — their Bloody Mary comes with tomato-flavored ice cubes, and the iced caramel coffee is made with actual coffee ice cubes, so it never gets watered down. Genius!

If you appreciate quality and small touches that make a big difference — this place is a must. I keep coming back and it’s always amazing.

Food was amazing, I ordered the Turkish breakfast item it has fresh Greek yogurt. Would 100/10 recommend!

Service not so much. This place has been on my list of places to go for months and I took a day trip from Ohio to come here and see the museums. One of the servers was very ablest and rude. My friend who is disabled asked if she can grab us a water, she said she only gets water for old people and people with children then said it was self serve… I didn’t know it was self serve this was our first time here. She could have just said it was self serve and pointed us to where it is and I could have grabbed it for us. I’m okay grabbing our own water she just said it so rude.

Mediterra has been my go to brunch restaurant for a couple of years. And I used to love the food here. But the past couple of visits have been very disappointing.

On both occasions the Shakshuka have been overcooked and the eggs were slightly burned and hard boiled. Today I complained as soon as it came out. The server was really kind and replaced it. But it was still the same. So I just went through it.

And the portion size is not what it used to be. Previously I could barely finish the shakshuka. But the last two times it wasn’t enough. The picture shows the quantity (I took just one spoon)

Mediterra continues to be our favorite Valentine’s Day tradition- I think this is our 4th year attending.

Service was exceptional. Christina is 10/10, as always. She even surprised my dinner date with an unannounced gluten-free option, which was such a thoughtful touch and truly above and beyond.

The bartender impressed us too. I gave her absolutely no direction other than “I like gin” and she crafted a fantastic surprise cocktail that was perfect.

Food was outstanding. The gnocchi was my personal favorite, with the tuna as a very close second. Every dish felt intentional and beautifully executed.

The vibes are always impeccable. We actually closed the place down because we just did not want to leave!

We will absolutely be back next year for our fave annual Valetine’s Day Dinner!

I absolutely love Mediterra. it feels like a little reminder of Europe right here in Pittsburgh.
The food is incredibly tasty, fresh, healthy, and truly different from typical options in the area. My all-time favorite is the toast with smoked salmon and caviar! it’s amazing every single time. The bread is outstanding: always fresh, with great sourdough options (which I personally love).
And the cheesecake? Honestly, the best in the area. No competition.
I also love that they have a small shop where you can buy imported delicacies as well as very local specialty foods. such a cool touch.
The service is always attentive, warm, and consistent. You can tell they really care about the experience.
I truly love this place and keep coming back.

This place was delicious overall, but not outstanding. The mocha latte was really good; one of the best I’ve ever had. My friend said they doused the avocado in oil, and the eggs and bacon were just okay. He rates his dish a 3/5. The French toast was delicious but not a lot of food for the price… so I’d give that a 4/5. The coffee is a 5/5 and the service and atmosphere are wonderful. I didn’t take a photo of my croissant, but that was DELICIOUS. So flaky! I’d come here again and was grateful they were open on Labor Day 🙂

Mediterra is one of the best bakeries in Pittsburgh! The Mt Lebanon location has outdoor seating, which is great if you have dogs. My favorite dish is the shakshuka — always perfectly seasoned 🙂

Went for a lunch with 2 other adults and baby. It was BUSY. In a good way. Baked goods and desserts were phenomenal. The sandwich we ordered was distinctly good. Pizza slices awesome, hefty, basically 2 slices in one. Waffles with the labneh with cardamom quite good. Beet salad on point. The blueberry cheesecake was perfection. I don’t live too close but will have to go back to try more things. Oh also their coffee selection is impeccable. Really nuanced flavor profiles, that golden tumeric latte was just right.

The Mediterra is such a cute little bakery and restaurant. I love going with friends, family, my husband and our dog. It has indoor bar and table seating as well as outdoor seating, with umbrellas and heaters that allow dogs and even provide water bowls for them (so nice). To order, you head through a store front that is reminiscent of a small local store with wine, honey, crackers, preserves, jams, etc. Once you’re done battling the decision to buy the organic balsamic or to buy your friend the Pinot Noir perched on the shelf, you wrap around to a bakery counter. My. God. You will find happiness there. They have seasonal cakes, cookies, breads, and a croissant-muffin. The offer juices, kombucha, parfaits and granola to go cups that are so yummy. Once you rip your eyes from the bakery, you can see the menu. They have such good breakfast/brunch options and amazing lunch as well. It is on the pricier side, but the quality of the food is so amazing- I don’t mind. It is well worth the wait. I would highly recommend their coffees as well- the chai and cereal milk lattes are marvelous, both in flavor and aesthetic.

The pictures included are the house brined and roasted turkey sandwich with a vanilla latte, the milk bread French toast with the hot chai latte, and the breakfast of champions. They offer seasonal fruit for the French toast and for the coffees. Right now, they are doing cereal milk lattes, where each month, they soak cereal in milk overnight and make a latte out of it.

Run don’t walk!
