I’ve always liked Beaches Deli in Tigard… the sandwiches are excellent and easily a 5/5 on the food. The location is also great (I was getting my car washed across the street and stopped in).
The only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars is that the last couple visits had pretty long wait times, and the staff didn’t seem as friendly as they used to be. When I first started coming here the vibe was really welcoming, so I’m guessing they may just be a little understaffed lately.
That said, the sandwiches are still fantastic. I’m leaving this review because I want the place to succeed… and if the service improves I’d happily update this to 5 stars.

Sandwich shop with a Hawaiian touch. TVs, with xfinity at all booths, is a nice touch. Sandwich (sunrise) is plainish in flavor. Turkey is very mild in flavor. Bacon is slightly better. Swiss is swiss. Pickles good.

I feel bad not giving a 4 or 5 star rating but it seemed that the bar wasn’t ready for customers. The open mic night was a blast and the bands were great. The drinks and bar service was not good and there is not enough seating for everyone. It was only 7pm and some beer was not refilled in the tap and not available. The soda was also not refilled and just got a drink full of bubbles with no flavor. The bar tender served the wrong drinks and carded some people but not others? They maybe needed some help.

Cruising through Tigard, my friend and I couldn’t help but notice the totally rad Beach Hut Deli – that beachy decor just called to us like a wave begging to be surfed! We finally decided to dive in, even though we had no clue how to order at first. No worries though – one of the friendly crew members came over and gave us the lowdown with that classic chill island vibe.
After grabbing some drinks, we snagged the coolest little surfboard table – seriously, it was giving total beach shack energy. The music was jamming, the vibe was on point, and everyone there seemed to be soaking up the good times.
Now, let’s talk about the main event – the sandwiches. Holy guacamole, these things were stacked! The bread was soft and fresh – like it had just washed ashore on a tropical island. The sandwiches were absolutely loaded with meat, cheese, and all the fixings – you name it, it was in there. We could barely tackle a quarter of our sandwiches before we had to throw in the towel (or napkin). And the nachos? Mahalo for that cheesy goodness!
Best part? Taking that epic sandwich home and getting to ride the flavor wave all over again the next day. Totally worth the stop – I’m already planning my next visit to order the exact same thing.

I absolutely love love loved the sandwich the first time I came here at the recommendation of my fiancé. It was so full of meat and not overloaded on veggies as fillers excrpt the avocado, which id paid extra for, like most sandwich shops. Absolutely delicious. The reason for the low stars is because the second time I went I ordered the same sandwich, I think its called the sunrise, and it was a real disappointment. Very little meat or veggies and there was 2 pieces of avocado on it which I’d paid extra for. It seems there’s no continuity of quality here which is a real bummer. Had the second sandwich been my first its unlikely I’d ever have returned. I’m on the fence if I’ll give them a third chance. For the price I expect every sandwich to be like the first. That said the atmosphere is super cool and the service was great!!

The Skinny Dipper was delicious, like a Philly cheese steak and French Dip together, with just the right flavor. The soup also tasted good. Friendly staff. Each table has it’s own remote to control it’s own tv.

We used to come here all the time but the last 3 trips have been less than desirable. Yesterday was the last time. A small sandwich which was about 2.5 to 3 inches long with almost not in it was over $9.00! It was horrible. The pricing is really bad and the quality has definitely dropped. The tuna salad was almost all romaine lettuce and very little of anything else. It has also been dirty inside the last 3 visits. We will not be back and would recommend Jersey Mikes over this place every time now.
