I came here after Big HEB on three occasions, one for food, twice for a tea.
First time was for food, I did online order and went in watching the food runner laugh and talk on the phone for a while and then start delivering in store food that was ordered while he did so. Packed mine up once I think he noticed me. Waited a solid 15 mins from my pickup time watching my food sit on the counter. SLOWEST service I have ever seen. The sandwiches were not made according to ingredients listed online. I didn’t eat mine, my sons was soggy.
Second time I went in for 1 big tea. I walked in and stood at the counter while the woman didn’t acknowledge me whatsoever, had her back to me. I heard the man from before and others in the open kitchen blaming each other and talking about how someone don’t turn the ovens on. She was literally 5ft from me and still didn’t turn around, I got her attention when pulling my keys out of my bag to leave.
Third experience. Opens at 10:30. Finished my Heb trip and wanted a tea, the man from two previous experiences is outside laughing it up with what looks like an employee, I go to open the door and it’s locked. It’s 10:40-45.
I’ve never been here and had a good experience. I feel like when I go for even a tea I have to question if I’ll get one.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Not a good experience
Ordering online was simple, but everything went downhill from there. When I arrived for curbside pickup, the process required calling in — except no one was answering the phone. I called three separate times, got hung up on once, and the whole thing sounded very chaotic. To make matters worse, two of the designated curbside spots were blocked by dumpsters. After waiting over 20 minutes, I finally got my order — soggy sandwiches that weren’t worth the price at all. Honestly, the prices they charge for half a sandwich are outrageous. The whole place feels shady and unorganized.

I got a BLT with avocado. And the bacon was completely burnt. I don’t like burnt bacon. I was quite disappointed with what I was served.

When I walked in, I was the only one at the store at 6 PM and that should’ve been my first tip off. I ordered one sandwich and it’s still took 15 minutes. I drove home about 10 minutes and the bread was completely soggy on both sides, the pastrami was extremely thick cut, tasted pretty poor nothing like the previous orders (seems like they change meat suppliers, possibly) and overall, it’s a pretty terrible sandwich for almost 14 bucks. Also seems like they eliminated the cucumber salad they had which was great. I was scolded and told to pick a sigh that was ON the menu like I knew it was discontinued. While I was waiting, a woman ordered the lasagna soup that was on the menu as the soup
Of the day and was told oh we don’t have that item. The menu needs to be updated, they sent us the wrong one we don’t have that any longer. Maybe a short piece of electrical tape could easily fix that. Definitely not the same as the McAllister’s I was used to. I will definitely not be going back again. What a shame!

Service id really give a negative. Took forever. They did 3 people w same #, delivering ours to another table. After another patron touched our plate they then brought to us which is huge health code violation. We’d finished before brought out other persons plate in group AFTER we asked about. Food was very bland. Saw person bringing out food wiping for head with bare hand up front. I’ll try other locations but never San Marcos again

We’ve almost always had a good experience with this location. However, tonight was a letdown. We ordered pickup and my order was a Choose 2, which included a half Chicken Bacon Ranch Spud. The amount of chicken and cheese was ample. However, there was only about 1/4 teaspoon of near-microscopic green onion, a singular piece of bacon that was maybe 1 1/2 inches long, and the ranch dressing and butter were not discernible. So 4 out of the 6 toppings fell very short of expectations. If I had eaten in the restaurant I could have asked for adjustments but once you get home 15-20 minutes away, you’re pretty much out of luck. Or you pull from your own kitchen.

I love this deli so much!! McAlister’s Can do no wrong!!! The food is absolutely delicious! I have had almost every salad, side, dessert and sandwich on the menu and every last meal I tried was memorable.

I love the sweet tea. Lately I have been getting a sprite with peach syrup.

I frequent this place so much I had to download the app.

This place feels like love and happiness. I got so excited when I picked up my food that I forgot to take a picture.

I highly recommend!

Oh wow! If I lived here, this would be my new “Go To.” The food was delicious. My wife couldn’t stop raving about the Angus Spud. The staff provided top notch service. Perfect place for a casual meal.

The Jalapeño Turkey Crunch and Lemon Blueberry Cookie were phenomenal. The Mac n cheese, not so much.

New manager is failing. Order was late (online), items were missing, ignored while waiting. Hard pass on eating there again.
