After a hike we stopped here for lunch. I had the regular chorizo burrito. The chorizo was packed evenly throughout. This is important to me so that you don’t get to the end to be just cleaning up rice. The chorizo was also wonderfully tasty with just the right amount of grease. I mean come on, you want a little grease with a good chorizo, but the burrito held together till the end.

The shrimp taco stands out. The shrimp are so big and bountiful that they don’t fit in the taco. First taco I’ve had served with a fork. The shrimp are bathed in “grilled pico de gallo”. This isn’t pico de gallo from the salsa bar. This is a smoky tangy molcajete sauce that’s pairs beautifully with the shrimp. I never knew you could cook the shrimp in this. It’s delicious – wipe up every drop.
The large windows of the restaurant allow lots of light to enter. The cashier and kitchen area are bright and cheerful – not dark and hidden. A staff member was sweeping floors and wiping tables. I don’t see this in other restaurants currently. The food arrived at my table before I could remove my jacket.

Born and raised in SoCal, I know some bomb Mexican food, and this place has it. This review is more about how terrible the “greeters” are. The people that take your order. There’s a girl and a guy, in particular, whom are extremely rude. I’ve been here probably 5 times and they have always been the ones to take my order. Being a blonde haired, blue eyed white woman, you’d think I wouldn’t know Spanish, but I’m fluent. And have heard them speak about me, and I want them to keep thinking that I don’t know a lick of what they’re saying. But the food is bomb. The servers, BASURA.

I ordered 2 cheese enchiladas on Valentine’s Day because that’s all we could afford, they must have not liked that because they brought them out with cold cheese not at all melted inside. I came back and told the manager (the only lady at the register) and the blue eyed guy came back out with the same plate I took back just melted cheese this time. I took it back to the front and said I wanted a refund. I asked the guy how they could do that so fast and if they microwave their food and he told me “I only take orders here!” Nasty rude attitude and mediocre food. Go up the way to the New Mexican restaurant in Ben Lomand !!!

We were in the area and looked for a taqueria, this place came up. We got there and a bunch of people showed up right before us so the line was long. The line moved quick, and they prepared the food very fast. The tacos were great!

A cantina style taqueria. Authentic Mexican food. The tacos are simple and flavorful. Option for both hard and soft shell. There is something for every taste. Everything was fresh and service was quick. Fish and shrimp tacos were good. They customized a hard shell taco for a picky eater in our party. They serve jarritos soda in a few flavors. Overall a good place to grab a quick and decently priced lunch.
