I think they’re probably a great place on a normal day, but I can’t say. But for Lunar New Year, their best quality was definitely their ambiance.
For the rest of the night I made friends with strangers and we were all fighting to get food by the kitchen.
After spending about three hours there, for $115/ person, and there was two of us, we got two photos from a photo booth, 2 bao buns, 3 servings (about a fist size) of rice, three beef pieces, 2 shrimp pieces, and three drinks total. Food was a 3/10 just because it was fast food and you had to fight for it. A lot of it ran out.
Don’t get me wrong, business is business, you have to make money… but they kind of just took too much here and gave too little or the layout was not right.
They did have a DJ and a dragon that came by and auctioned off some alcohol which was nice especially for those who like to drink.
I think if the amount of people were limited so that people could get full on the amount they paid to eat, it would have been better.
Really enjoyed the potential the night had with the bingo zodiac game. The highest rating of 3 goes to the kind waiters, the random kind people I met, my own company, and the potential this event could have had.
Overall, as a person who knows Chinese food pretty well growing up with homemade daily Chinese food, and worldwide foodie, I wouldn’t come here for the food (except one of their baos- I believe it was beef). Might come again for the ambiance on a normal day. Oh and to use their bathroom because those had nice fancy napkins.
Ps to be clear, I don’t recommend anyone coming during a special event. But I do not have any experience on a normal night, and those nights might be great.
Only the truth,
C. xx
The food was equally impressive. We ordered the crunchy rolls, green beans, and braised chicken, and every dish was outstanding. Even after I was full, I couldn’t resist continuing to eat because everything was that delicious. We cannot wait to return and will absolutely be requesting Melanie again.
If you eat meat this is the place for you.
The kimchi was interesting, it was chopped into tiny pieces. The miso soup was room temp but good.
Even the shoyu tomago was not fresh. Quite the disappointing experience as I have been here multiple times before and have even brought family from out of town. My whiskey sour was good.
Not sure if this is a broader issue across the US as we all know most restaurants get their food from cisco and other large monopolies. But yea, would not go back after what I paid for my most recent experience. Which with tip was over $130 for just myself…
My Uber Eats order arrived in an OPEN bag — not sealed, not stapled, not secured in any way. In 2026, basic food safety should not be optional. Because the bag was open, there is no way to know whether my food was tampered with, and frankly, it looked like it had been dug through. The containers were messy and disturbed, not at all how food should arrive from a professional restaurant.
The food itself was poor quality and absolutely not what was advertised in the photos.
My total order was $56, and I did not eat a single bite because I did not feel safe consuming it. That is money completely wasted.
I attempted to contact the restaurant directly, but their voicemail box is full and they do not answer their phone. That alone speaks volumes about how seriously they take customer concerns.
Do not eat at this restaurant — and especially do not order through Uber Eats. They do not take food safety, packaging, or quality seriously, and customers should not be expected to gamble with their health for overpriced, poorly handled food.
Extremely disappointed and would never trust this restaurant again.
The atmosphere made it easy to relax and savor every sip, and it’s clear the team takes pride in what they do. I’m already looking forward to coming back to try the food, which I’ve heard is just as impressive as the drinks. When I do, I’ll be sure to share a full review of the meal. For now, I can confidently say that the bar experience alone is worth a visit—it’s a perfect combination of great drinks, skillful bartending, and welcoming vibes.
