Los Temos Taqueria on Hwy 99 (just outside North Salem heading toward Woodburn) brought back a lot of memories for me. I used to come here often before we moved from Oregon, and when we happened to drive by again 10 years later, I knew we had to stop.
This place was known for authentic Birria de Chivo long before birria became trendy everywhere. The outside, though, looks very worn down—the name on the roof is almost gone and it’s nothing like I remember. It was Sunday and the place was packed. We waited in line about 15 minutes.
We ordered the Caldo de Birria, Quesa Birria tacos, and a few drinks. The total was around $55, which felt a little pricey compared to other spots. But once the food came out, we weren’t disappointed at all. It was super authentic, packed with plenty of meat, and tasted amazing—honestly worth the money. The food was superb and absolutely lived up to expectations.
They also had a two-piece band playing while we were there, and they were good too.
My only real complaint is the lack of upkeep—especially the bathroom. With food this good, you’d expect the place to match the quality.
Overall, I’d recommend Los Temos to anyone who cares about quality and authenticity and can look past the not-so-appealing building.

Service was good. Food very average and really expensive for what you get. We got the goat burritos but honestly I think k we got beef. Tables were sticky and bathrooms were dirty. We won’t be coming back. This place used to be really good and affordable but not anymore. Too bad

This is a great hidden gem off Hwy. 99. Homemade corn tortillas. Birria de Chivo is crazy good. They had a 3-piece band when we were there for lunch and they were good too. Seems like a family run business and the service is top notch. Stop by and enjoy great home style Mexican food. Delish!!

I have only had the steak tacos but they are absolutely delicious. The freshly made tortillas are also very good. They have a large menu and the staff seem very nice! I came in at a busy time today and got my food pretty quickly, which was also true the first time I went here. Also the tacos are really big and they give you a lot of meat and toppings.

I read the reviews for this place and decided to try it . The food had absolutely no flavor at all the tongue tacos had no flavor eather the tortillas were not cooked all the way and my meat fell through the tortilla. It was super cold inside I had to were my jacket they don’t have water only from a unfiltered sink or bottled water that you have to buy no wheelchair access the only thang that tasted good was the green salsa if you like hominy in your menudo they don’t do that also they won’t grill you some onions for your tacos I wont be back their again unfortunately
