Haven’t been here for awhile so we were pleasantly surprised at how good our meal was! Shrimp basket was prepared perfectly, not over cooked like before. Nice sized shrimp and plenty of them. Burger and fries also perfectly prepared. Great waitress was attentive and friendly. Obvious local regular customers lined the bar. Will have to try their wing special on Wednesdays.

Driving across Iowa, you cannot leave the state without eating a pork tenderloin sandwich! This place did not disappoint. The tenderloin was literally twice the size of the bun. My wife had a burger and it too was thick and cooked to perfection. Whoever is cooking in the back deserves a raise! It is getting very hard to find a good food joint that takes pride in getting the food RIGHT. We shared some corn nuggets, because we didn’t know what it was, so we had to try them. Delicious. The whole meal was under $40 … an absolute bargain and a gem alongside the highway.

I ordered the shrimp basket and my husband ordered the brisket sandwich special. Both were delicious. I got 10 large shrimp and tons of fries. Our waitress was very friendly, checked back on us a couple times, service was excellent. Picture is what I had leftover from my $14 basket.

I rarely get a chance to stop at Scooters, but each time I say I need to stop more often. I had a smoked brisket sandwich which was, well, delicious. Nice wide open space, with great food, and a very friendly staff!

The sweet corn appetizer was amazing!! (Even my picky kids liked it!) They have Pepsi products (my favorite!) I ordered the tenderloin sandwich and it was was just okay — but it was on a teeny-tiny little bun. Really? Come on, guys! Go to Hy-Vee and buy bigger buns for the tenderloin sandwiches! I felt ripped off. I didn’t eat more than half the sandwich because I ran out of bun! That was a big disappointment. We will go back again, though.

My son and I stopped here for lunch before his appointment in Iowa City. Our server Wendi was not only on top of our food and drinks she was so warm and welcoming. She offered to box up our food and keep it in the cooler while we traveled to Iowa City and back so it wouldn’t go bad in the car. She was such a sweet person to us. She is top notch!
