Drive-through service within 10-15 minutes.
A huge variety of food and drinks. We ordered a big pizza, two soups, a creamy corn and three drinks, including a milkshake for s child.
Such order is $56.
Pizza made like a meat pie: a thick layer of beef in high quality (mixed with mild spicies and green onion) placed between two thin layers of dough (taste like two big crepes). I have never eat Mexican food and this pizza is good for first try.
Soups made of beef broth with chopped cheives, green and fried red onions. It tasts like loose onion soup.
Hot creamy corn is a peeled baked corn seeds which are mixed with species, and whipped cream.
A milkshake is thick: whipped cream, regular milk and icecream. It can fit even a picky child.
Customer service is OK: fast enough and friendly.

So I was short on time today and ordered ahead. When I arrived I learned that I ordered my food at the wrong location. I showed the attendant and she shook her shoulders and didn’t offer any type of alternative. So I had to reorder my food, already short on time… I reordered my same meal and I have 3 main things I can’t eat Gluten, Dairy and raw onions and cabbage. These items will ruin my day so I never forget. When my order came out it was covered in onions when I brought it up the attendant she simply smiled and said”you didn’t say that when you ordered” and walked away. So I had to leave and get back to my obligations without a meal one that costed me 30 bucks at this point. Now it’s 5:30 pm and still haven’t eaten. Not sure why they were not so keen on helping a customer out. Anyway that’s enough for me to never walk into another Forastero again especially since taquerias are so abundant. If still reading this, skip this place and go down the street to next one.

I love carne asada fries. I’ve tried it at every Mexican place I’ve been to all around Sacramento. This place is my new go-to spot for fries whenever I have a craving. They use the thicker fries and give a lot of it. I especially appreciate that they put the paper between the food and takeout box. I wish more places did this. If you like carne asada fries, try them out here at least once.

I try the pozole and the quesabirria tacos they were scrumptious and the prices were pretty cheap compared to other places. I will definitely be back.

Lunch and breakfast here are bomb!
Their chorizo burritos are so good, such better than the other place that will remain nameless that needs to learn from this place. The salsa bar is better than most Mexican places I’ve been to. Im very happy that they are building more of these all over the place. I am looking forward to being a regular at these restaurants and avoiding the other place.

The signage states in multiple places that they are open 24 hours. They are not. They in theory open at 7am, if they feel like it. The food is reliablely good, the hours are not. I have not eaten inside since it changed from Flip n’ Shake, and that place had problems for years getting business outside of the college crowd hours. El Forastero is competing directly with California Burrito, having such a similar menu and being within half a mile of each other. They are probably losing, because they lie about their hours.

I went in and the place was dead empty. Not one soul in there but me and the employees working at the time. I asked for two simple grilled chicken tacos and a side of rice and did not get either. Instead i got Carne asada and NO rice. This place is way too new to be making simple mistakes like that ESPECIALLY when it was not busy at all. Not even a car in the drive thru! I wont be back after i get A refund.
