I had the “Mixed Grill” and it was delicious. Everything was outstanding, but the Kefta kebab was incredible. The chicken and beef kabobs were also very good as well as the chicken shawarma. Excellent food at a really reasonable price!! Service was courteous and very prompt. Shukran for a great dinner.

We had Middle Eastern food from Bab Alsalam catered and everything was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious, well organized, and traveled very well without losing quality. Everything arrived fresh and beautifully presented. The young man who helped us was extremely polite, professional, and had such a positive attitude, which made the experience even better. We were very impressed and would definitely use this catering service again and recommend it to others.

Today I strayed away from my usual shawarma spot and decided to try Bab Al Salam down the block. I was happy I took the adventure. Service was excellent and very helpful. Store was clean. The person working the register gave me the perfect suggestion.
This mixed grill plate is one of the best I’ve tried. The kefta, chicken, and steak were all tender and perfectly cooked. The hummus was creamy, and tasted homemade. The little chopped salad complimented the plate perfectly with its light olive oil and dry mint seasoning. Rice was very moist and flavorful. This was an easy 9/10 plate. Now I see why they have the highest rating out of all Mediterranean spots in the area. And rightfully so. Recommend to anyone from the area or if you’re a frequent flyer from ohare.

We ordered the large baba ganoush, large hummus, and the mixed grill platter for takeout. Everything was reasonably priced and portions were quite generous. The baba ganoush was tasty with a great smokiness but the texture was a bit watery. The hummus was kind of strange. I couldn’t really taste the tahini or the chickpeas much. Instead, it somehow had both the texture and aftertaste that reminded me of boiled egg yolk, of which I wasn’t a big fan. Both dips were topped with a spicy, tangy shatta that added a nice kick and brightness. All the meats on the mixed grill platter were juicy and had a nice smoky char but needed more salt. The grilled vegetables were well-cooked: good char and tender throughout. Every bite of the cucumber tomato salad had an addicting tang and fresh crunch.
