Established in 2007, Somewhere in Bangkok is Southington’s family-style Thai restaurant. We serve both well-loved dishes like Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) as well as lesser known (but still delicious) dishes like Som Tum (Papaya Salad) and Thai curries. After your meal, we also offer a selection of homemade cakes ranging from our signature coconut cake, almond coffee cake, to crepe cake. We’re open for lunch, dinner, and would love for you to come visit us!

Colorful walls & artwork frame this BYO Thai eatery preparing curries, noodles & other standards.

We tried this place out today, very cute and in a convenient location to shopping. For appetizers we had the shrimp volcano and crab bag. I ordered the Queen street drunken noodles and my husband ordered duck pad see ew. We had natural ginger ale passion fruit flavored. Everything was so hot and fresh. The food satisfied our taste buds tremendously and the presentation was perfect. The menu is expansive with so many great options to choose from. To top it off, the service was great. We already can’t wait to go back!

The food was amazing!
Our kids loved everything, and the Volcano Shrimp and Pork Belly Pad Thai were absolute standouts.

Only downside: the place felt a bit short-staffed for a Saturday night, so table turnover was slow. Lots of cleared-out tables sitting empty and our second round of food took a while.

But honestly, everything tasted so great that it was hard to be mad about it.
Definitely coming back—can’t wait to try more dishes!

First off — do not order the mango sticky rice. It was truly disappointing.

I came to this Thai restaurant and ordered the spicy sea bass and mango sticky rice. The spicy sea bass was absolutely incredible! The fish was fresh, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The sauce had just the right amount of spice, and the veggies on the side — broccoli, carrots, and green beans — went perfectly with the dish. I honestly loved every bite and would come back just for this dish alone.

However, the mango sticky rice was the complete opposite. It was truly disappointing. The mango had no flavor at all — completely tasteless — and the sticky rice was bland and lacking sweetness. I hate to say it, but I would not recommend ordering this dessert at all. It just didn’t deliver.

The dining area itself is warm, cozy, and inviting, which makes it a nice place to enjoy a meal. But the front area when you first walk in doesn’t feel as welcoming, so I’d definitely suggest sitting in the main dining area instead.

The staff were very friendly and attentive, which made the experience pleasant overall. Parking is a bit tight, but manageable. Overall, I’ll definitely come back for that amazing spicy sea bass — but I’ll be skipping the mango sticky rice for sure.

It’s a super cute, small restaurant! I ordered the Thai ginger chicken stir fry and the sauce was delicious. I also got a Thai iced tea that was so good. Everything is super reasonably priced, a meal for 4 people came out to be $108 without tip.

The only downside was the restaurant was a little chilly, they even had fans on in the middle of winter.

I’ve ordered from here many times and usually enjoy the food. However, on two separate occasions I’ve unfortunately found hair in my meal. I decided to give it another chance, since mistakes can happen, but it happened again. At this point, I don’t feel comfortable ordering from here anymore. It’s really disappointing, and I hope the kitchen takes steps—like wearing proper hairnets—to make sure this doesn’t happen to other customers.

Absolutely amazing Pho! We’ve been several times over the past few weeks and Somewhere in Bangkok is our new favorite Pho place! I’ve tried both chicken and beef and both were absolutely amazing! Also try the Siam Calamari! The sweet Thai Chili sauce with them is amazing! Thir boba tea is also to die for! We’ve had the both with dinner and stopped in and gotten some to go. They have some many flavors! Try them all!

Service was amazing and all our food came quickly and it’s a real, nice cozy atmosphere inside. While you can get food to go, I’d suggest dining in so everything is super fresh! We’ll be back again soon!

Came tonight for my Dad’s birthday dinner, we had a reservation for 6:30 and were seated promptly. That said – It took 35 minutes for anyone to come to take our drink order. Just as we were about to get up to leave to go to a different restaurant, feeling forgotten about, the waitress came over. The food was good, but we watched walk-in customers who were seated AFTER us get their food before we were even able to order our drinks. And we had a reservation. Disappointing. I won’t eat in the restaurant again, I’d get takeout.. the food was pretty good. The coconut cake was delicious.
