This year for Christmas we went to Griddle & Gyros for breakfast. I like my peace & quiet and they have peace & quiet plus DELICIOUS food. I was really looking for some grits, but the service, food and atmosphere was enough. It’s a great place for a sit down breakfast, not fancy but cozy and clean! I like that there are windows all around and there was no wait. Now, I dont know what its like during a regular day, but for Christmas it was PERFECT! My daughter said she’ll be back and my son grades all breakfast places by the omelets…it passed! I had banana pancakes, and they cook their fruit inside the pancake and the taste is the best…sorry Toasted Yolk! No seasonal favorites, just a real tasty, clean meal. Headed west on Church before you get to Pleasant Hill.

I wanted to love this place…I truly did. I love supporting local business and am loyal to Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Persian foods. I kept making excuses for their poor quality and service time and time again, and kept trying to give them another chance. Unfortunately, the poor experience is a pattern here.
Five times have ordered, paid in advance, received a confirmation and pick-up time and made my way to their counter. Three of those times, they had no idea of the order and scrambled frantically to create something on the fly. I’ve spent on average twenty additional minutes waiting for them to hastily create my order, all the while being ignored with no apology.
My most recent experience sealed their fate; however, when they handed me this as their “Chicken & Rice Platter.” This is not the tender, marinated and seasoned chicken that is not only displayed, but I have received on all four previous orders. This was some dried chicken breast they likely pulled from their cook line, or from another older dish that they cut and hastily threw into my platter. It was entirely inedible and resembled jerky more than anything, with only a few pieces at that.
I’ve also received poor quality meat, veggies/salad (wilted, brown rotten lettuce, grey tomatoes, etc), hard dry falafel (that came without any sauce) and cold soggy fries in several of my past orders. I’ve also attempted to notify the store of my experiences, which resulted in little to no consideration, no refund or repair. Additionally, each time you order will result in a various dish as the cook seems to change flavors and spices used – and yes, I order the same each time. It’s inconsistent and mismanaged.
Do yourself a favor, and drive the extra time to find other Halal Chicken and Rice. The Boyz serves similar fare, is clean, FAST, courteous, and also offers discounts to military, teachers and service workers. I take pride in ethnic cuisine and generally go out of my way to support diversity in our community. This is beyond disappointing, overpriced, with patterned mismanagement and poor quality food.

Loaded lamb fries, Oreo pancakes, omelettes, everything I have had here slaps and hella bussin. Everything I have had is made to order. Fries are battered. Rice is not bland. Philly cheese steak is bomb. Gyros are awesome. Love this place

Seen this place online and decided to try for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Food was very good, I got the smoke house breakfast and enjoyed it. Pancakes were okay but not as good as the rest of it. Curious to try the lunch and supper options, will definitely be going back.

Best food i have eaten out in a while! The lamb was full of so much flavor on the lamb and fries. The steak and rice was amazing full of flavor. The lamb gyro was out of this world. The smash burger was great. Everything made fresh and great service. For the price you cant beat this! This place would get 6 starts if it would allow

The chicken and rice was good. The floors in the restaurant and the bathroom were filthy like idk when the last time they had been cleaned. The food quality was not what we expected for the appetizer and not worth the price, the chicken tenders especially were pressed chicken with pieces of fat and grissle. The waitress was very kind and did a great job as she was taking orders, cooking the food and serving the tables. Overall it was okay.

Always searching for a good burger, most often let down. My husband tried this place out this week and the smash burgers were so good he called the owner and commended him. Having again for lunch today so I could try them. Very delicious! And super close to the house makes it even better.

My wife and I were on our way home on Church Road from Sam’s Club in Southaven. I had read on the Olive Branch Facebook page that a new restaurant had opened called Griddle & Gyro. We stopped in and enjoyed the small, quiet, and reserved atmosphere of the establishment and began to review the pretty extensive menu after a brief interaction with the very friendly and pleasant female host. She began to take our order and asked if this was our first time there, we acknowledged her question with a yes. She then proceeded to suggest that we order the Mixed Over Rice . Let me tell you, this dish was SOOOOOoooo delicious that I would do it an injustice to attempt to describe it with words. It differs from anything I have ever had, and I could not get enough! I will be back, and THANK YOU to the wonderful host for your ON POINT suggestion. b.t.w., it was ready in no time. Great Service, Great Food, Great Value!!! ENJOY!!!
